We used that "wait catch" style of defence in 2015-6 to great effect mostly, especially 2015. Things is, that style requires perfect coordination of the line, good defensive reads, and excellent tackling technique - everything we don't have this year, or last year, or the year before that.

I am surprised Seibold is unable to coach that. He had last year, and now this year, it is still crap.

We can make good excuses for our attack: our entire back row is out, our 3 strike eapons were out tonight so I can understand thye clunky attack. But not the defence. Nothing therre has changed for years.
Problem is the 6 again rule.
We have to get off quickly because we concede momentum. Everything is stemming from this.

There is ZERO FUCKING leadership at this club. I feel sorry for the poor kids coming through while the senior players just think everything is fine and nothing gets done.

That is piss poor effort. This club is an absolute cancer at the moment and playing group and the club in general just don't care!! Paul White, pack up your shit and piss off with your mate Seibold.
Nah, **** the media. Hopefully they go home and delete their social media too.

I keep checking NRL.com to see if anyone has been punished yet. Surely Boyd wants to get his mental health message out once more.

So tonight, I hear loud panic noises coming from the bedroom. The two youngest were asleep in our bed, and somehow my son has managed to shit himself right through his pants, and there is a smeary trail all the way to the toilet, with a massive nard on the tiles, and smeared shit all up the side of the toilet. Sitting on top of the toilet is my half-asleep son looking embarassed and shocked.

And yet, he didn't even shit the bed as bad as the Broncos tonight.

At least the effort was there when Hook was coaching. For Seibolds entire tenure here we've coasted by as a group of individuals, winning games through ad hoc plays, individual players just ripping the game apart, that sort of thing. Whether we've got players missing or the best 1-17s going around I have absolutely no faith that the coach will get them to perform to even half their ceiling.
I had to check the calendar for a second there. I thought I was back in 2018 reading your post. Exactly what was happening then, except we had a much more experienced team and a guru coach...

This is by no means a post supporting Seibs. He still has some leeway from me, but needs to take a page from Bellamy's book... no holds barred, fucking shoot the hostages if need be, to get these guys to do what they should be capable of doing since the U13's.

I know inexperience and injuries are a factor, as is the 6 again rule, which we can't seem to adapt to, but before we look into anything else, we need to smash into these kids' heads that their talent is worthless if they can't get the basics right, like hold the ball with 2 hands on your red zone (yeah, talking to you Flegler), stick to a tackle and stop post contact meters, get back to marker immediately, etc...

There is definitely a rot in Brisbane's youth, possibly a cultural issue from spoiled teenagers playing for the biggest team in the NRL and only one in RL's capital city, perhaps a very misplaced sense of entitlement and arrogance, which needs to be hammered into submission.
Whether Seibold is capable of that, will decide his future in the game. I hope he's aware of that.

For mine that just adds to lack of necessary requirements to make that style of defence work.

This also works for attack. Our ptb's are way too slow to create momentum.

We can't stop momentum and we can't create our own

He has to be as ruthless as he wants his players to be, there’s absolutely no room for feelings anymore. Either put up or shut up and get out.

I'd prefer they don't speak to the media... **** all of them.

Don't talk to them at all for this whole week.

The media can just **** off... see how they go without the Broncos speaking to them for a week

Just watched the presser. It was a train wreck, however Seibs’ comments about the media hyping up broncos players more than players at other clubs was 100% correct. It’s also part of why we cop Ben Hunt and Ash Taylor situations. You won’t see the media ranting on about SST or Manu being worth a million for months like we’ve seen with Fifita.

This thought came to me during the game. I think this is genuinely one of the reasons our young players struggle so much when they first come in. There's obviously exceptions to the rule like Haas and Fifita who are actually as good as the media hype them up to be..

And then on the other side of the coin you've got guys being labelled the next Webcke, the brightest prospect since Lockyer, a Cooper Cronk mould.. These kids are 18 years old and have barely plied their trade in reserve grade. It's pretty fucking sad really, imagine having that expectation thrown on you by the media in your first season.

It's no wonder mental health is such a prominent issue in Rugby League, the media causes most of it.

I was happy to give AS the benefit of the doubt but after watching the presser I am convinced he does not have any answers or clue what to do next.
Work hard, prepare well, do the little things well, look in the mirror blah blah . We've heard it all before.
When you're in the spotlight mouthing the right words only gets you so far.
I'd say he wont be here next year unless things turn and soon .
