The tragic part about Darius Boyd is he probably spent the absolute best seasons of his career playing for other clubs. I think that coupled with the way he's finished his time at Brisbane just leaves too bitter a taste in most people's memories to be able to give him the send off he arguably deserves.

I'm grateful for the role he played in 2006 and 2015. I'm very, very grateful for his Origin career. Honestly, I think for me that's more or less where it ends though.

I know mate but I have faith in the forum and it's members. There's a lot of great people amongst the members and deep down I don't think any of us really think we could have achieved what DB has done. I think that way because even though I've had many mates and parted ways with some in genuine anger I still recall the good times because the shit wasn't worth giving my time to.

I hope I never lose sight of the fact that most people have a really good side to them. Even the ones on here who don't like me would still get a beer from me if I had the chance to shout.

As to the topic, as most have said, he clearly overstayed his welcome and shouldn't have been here for a second stint to start with, due to the ripple effect it had on our roster and spine composition, which has really been one of the main reasons for all our problems.

That said, he had a career most would and will envy, was a maroon stalwart for most of those years, so he deserves recognition for his achievements.
Whether he earned from his earlier years, or forfeited from the latter a send off in style, is something I'm honestly unsure about, probably because I'm angry at how much he has cost us, but also realise it's not really his fault to start with.

What I won't do, is attack the person and wish him all the best in the future.

It's exactly the same difference as between they're and their.
It's is a contraction of it is, while its is a possessive determiner.

In fact we've had 5 different captains this year. It's a completely meaningless title for the club nowadays.

I'll take ownership of the mistake but it was just an autofill/correct thing. I didn't pay attention during the proofread so I own it.

Just on DB I'm glad you take the position that there's no need to put shit on him. There's plenty of other threads for that.

I'm sure the new fullback will be an improvement. If he doesn't miss any tackles AND has plenty of try assists that is. He'll also have to chime in and be a part time playmaker but I'm sure anyone can do that! So, only three to go until the teams so much better
