Hard to believe we could have gone with a proven coach in Holbrook...how do we keep missing out on getting the best available?

I just don't view Holbrook as a proven coach.
He was a risk, one that at this point seems to be paying off, but it's very early days.
He needs to take the Titans into the finals, and beyond week 1, before I'm willing to say he is the real deal.

Yeah I should clarify, I'm just grumpy with the length of contract offered to our former incompetent rookie.

I don't know about you lot, but I've spent countless hours running situations through my head about how this new coach situation might play out. Its funny, the NSW media sources I've been exposed to (daily telegraph, buzz, fitler etc) are all really pushing for Green to be our next coach or claim he's odds on favourite for the job. Every time i hear that i find myself trying to convince myself that maybe Green is the right choice over Walters.

If we are been completely honest though, until the first round of interviews are done i dont think anyone has a clue who the front runner for the job is. I feel like NSW based media are advocating or reporting Green to be the man as they want what's NOT best for the club and are doing all they can to try and get Green the roll.

Furthermore id probably suggets that apaprt from nrl.com who are a neutral source, Chris Garry and dobbo are the only two media sources who are genuine Broncos fans and want the best for the club and most likely to report accurately on the new coach. Despite their complete lack if substance i still find myself reading too much into any report particularly from those southerners suggesting green will get the job.

Personally, i think Walters will get gig. If it was to be awarded to green, anything less then a premiership would be seen as a failure and those who appointed him absolutely crucified. Given the boards failure in the Seibold appointment i honestly don't see them risking anyone but Walters and talk of a strong assistant coach team to complament the coach also favours a Walters appointment. I don't imagine Green would be overly pleased to be told he has to appoint at least 2 assistant coaches with NRL coaching experience.

What a nervous and possibly exciting offseason and preseason we are in for. Every minute we don't have a coach i feel 2021 slipping away. Get the shit done already!

I think the Titans have repeated our mistake ... because they extended Holbrook giving 4 more years at the club.

The Titans management seem to panic then make mistakes.

first you have the Fifita $1.25 million deal

then they panic because 5 clubs sacked their coaches and ensure they keep their rookie (NRL, who is yet to make the finals) coach around for a further 4 years despite the fact that none of the teams who sacked their coach were actually looking at poaching Holbrook

Said Broncos are considering making Stephen Kearney interim coach for 1 year to wait for bellamy for 2021...

Haha where to begin with that option. 1. There's NO WAY bellamy wouldn't screw us over just for the sake of it 2. Kearney as head coach? Why? 3. The old boys would have a field day tearing the club apart (Because they love the club of course)....

We wouldn’t have extended after 19 though because we had regressed. The titans on the other hand have improved so an extension has been granted.

You could be right but nonetheless, Holbrook is succeeding in an environments where several before him failed...badly. And hindsight is a wonderful thing but man, it would have been good had our board done some homework before hiring the guy they were going to hire no matter what. Or more to the point, not given said coach a 5/6 year contract despite being a total rookie.

I'm struggling to see where I'm not just talking facts, not hyperbole.

Have you gone through something recently in your life mate? You have seemed a bit down and overly keyboard "strong" the last few weeks. I get it feels good to try to overcompensate on an internet forum but you need to get back to living.

Not sure what Seeplod did in 2018 has any bearing on things and I certainly didn't mention 2018. Lost me there. Perhaps you're having a stroke, notice any unusual smells, weird tingling?
