Prepare for the onslaught of articles and pressure citing player welfare, mental health etc etc to try and get us to allow him to go

Even as wooden-spooners we’re still the most awful club in the league that the NSWRL must do everything in its power to keep us there

Dean Ritchie has written a big article calling us arrogant, because we pretty much laughed in their face at that offer.

apparently the Dragons were waiting for us to call with a counter ... but we never did. which really isn't that surprising given how bad the initial Dragons offer was

So let me get this straight... they want us to pay 800k for bird which means they pay around 150k to get a former rep player? And what else do we get out of it? Sounds like a piss take

If Jack is so desperate to get back to Sydney he shouldn’t have taken up his option or he should request a release from it. **** him.
Exactly. Bird's behavior is really quite craven if it's true.

If Bird wanted a release, they'd grant it. He just needs to walk away from his contract which he would be nuts to do. His only option after 3 shit seasons is to have an absolute blinder in '21

Dragons wanted the broncos to pay 800k to get rid of Bird
Club shut them down and said we aren’t dealing with you now
Your rumours are worse then Badel's!!!

Yep, yet the Dragons and Fatdog Ritchie can’t understand why we didn’t come back to the negotiating table. We would have had to replace that position so would receive no benefit for losing an origin caliber player.

It almost feels ridiculous to criticise Badel when there are reporters like Fatdog doing the rounds.

If we somehow manage to get Grant, SuA, Allan and Lui in this offseason, plus one surprise signing and Capewell for the loss of Bird, Joffa and one or two others, some hope would be restored.

So does this Mark St John clown just recycle word for word what other reporters have said? Every article I see from him is either recapping other journos or transcribing the filth that Kent and Ikin spill on NRL360.

Courier-Mail running the same story. Got The feeling it’s going to be a long off season some how. Anything to do with the Broncs will be a beat-up.

Yeah, if you were selling your house for $975k and bidder came and offered $175K, as if you would even entertain the idea of negotiating with the other party.

If there is any arrogance in the situation, it is the arrogance of the dragons coming into a negotiation thinking they are in the position of that much power.... oh just saw the post above, ditto to that
TBH, if Bird were a house, he’d be riddled with termites, water damage and mould and only worth a fraction of the very similar house next door.

Still; absolutely agree telling Dragons to tell their story walking.

Who here would trade Jack Bird for Ben Hunt (Exclusively as a Dummy Half) ?
No , grant is the only hooker we should be chasing. His game awareness is worth his weight in gold. Hunt dosen't have it , can be dangerous but also a liability.

I didn't stipulate only Hunt. Of course I'd prefer Grant, I just see him as significantly less likely to be available.

I'd be very nervous about seeing us go into another season with Turpin as the only Dummy Half we'd actually want to have playing games for us. If Hunt was available I'd be really keen to look at what sort of deal we could reach.

Isn’t Macca returning. Thought I read somewhere he announced he was at the Knights player awards.
