sorry mate I hope I haven't contributed to your teetering.
No not at all mate . Like I said seeing other clubs signing players and preseason getting closer it feels like our window is shutting, but that may be because the players we are chasing have just finished.

Didn't Donaghy already resign from the storm??

He doesn't resign unless he has a job lined up and he cant accept the job until January.

I think 1910 or someone posted on here that we are trying to get Donaghy early??

I think there being no news is simply because it appears a fait accompli

Yeah you're right, maybe they can't announce it.

A quick skim read doesn't appear to mention if he's resigned effective immediately and doesn't give a timeline for when he will finish up... so maybe he has given 4 weeks notice and he's handing things over to the acting CEO. But I do recall 1910 or someone in the know saying on the day or maybe the day before that they are trying to get Donaghy early.

With origin finished there may be some movement ... otherwise he had a contract through to January.

They could also be determining a payout given he is resigning before the end of his contract and any stipulations of the payout should he move immediately into a similar role... but really I have no idea how the corporate world works in these situations with non disclosure agreements and all that stuff

'Member when Fifita re-signing was a fait accompli? 'Member when making finals every year was a fait accompli? 'Member when Broncos don't do rebuilds was a fait accompli? 'Member when the Broncos and not the Storm were the best team in Qld was a fait accompli? 'Member when signing GI was a fait accompli and even announced? 'Member when Kahu and Macca leaving and having them off our books was a fait accompli? 'Member when putting performance clauses in contracts was a fait accompli?

Don't trust anything this organisation says until there are quotes from the other connected party in agreement.

There are some pretty nice surfing beaches not that far from Melbourne you know.

Exactly, the truly sad and hard to face part is that the Tigers are quite a bit better than us.
I don't see them (the Tigers) getting out of the bottom 4 this season... what makes you say that? Playing hardball on Aloiai?

Depends if they get Grant back.

In the end, sure.

What about the 18-24 months prior to that offer where it was abundantly clear we had a special player on our hands and we might need to re-sign him, long before any other club could have even spoken to him?

The money is what got him to the Titans in the end, but it would be absolutely letting the people who should be held accountable off the hook to ignore the fact that Fifita should have been sorted out long before the Titans or anyone else got to make fools of us.
Not having a go at anyone, but how do we know (and I do mean KNOW) that the club stuffed this up?
I mean sure they could have, if they just didn't communicate or make much of an effort, but how do we know they weren't trying to get him to sign, but he wouldn't? Or that he wasn't feeding us promises?

This thread is depressing. There’s no excuse for no signings being announced at this point. Every single other team is improving, meanwhile we are losing players that could have helped. The **** is going on? Do something

That's what I mean he made them look a lot better then they were and don't try telling me Tamou will stop them going backwards. From what I've read it sounds like he either wants to come back to QLD or stay at the Storm.

Because recent performance suggests that the club stuffed it. In any case, a competent club would have put a time frame on him re-signing and if he didn't move on, ala the Roosters with Mitchell.

Yep I hope so too but I just get a feeling we will somehow manage to stuff this one up too.

I reckon you guys are heading for a 2022 forward pack of:

8. Phototaker
9. Grant / Smith
10. Haas
11. Fifita
12. Foulsmellingodour
13. Ese'ese

Man! That would have been what your would expect the Broncos to roll out once upon a time.

We will probably end up with:

8. Joffa
9. Turpin
10. Flegler
11. Glenn
12. Riki
13. Carrigan

Man that's depressing.

What happens when those you trust are a sleep at the wheel.

Looks like David might have taken the curse of the awful, basic jersey design with him.

Past actions means that they have lost the right to have the benefit of the doubt. It's like if someone has been caught breaking into houses 10 times, you are going to find it hard to believe he is innocent when he his caught for the 11th time.

Unless the judge can see no wrong in said culprit, like our owners seem to be unable to see.
