I had a laugh the other day when I noticed fifitas instagram. Quotes like "**** the haters", and "doing it for family".... it was actually a fair bit comical and is typical of the generation. The world isn't against you fifita, you're earning 1.25 million a year doing what you love. You had a tough upbringing but you live in a rich western country in a time of no war for us. If milford doesnt live up to his price tag this year and we choose not to re-sign him (and macca leaves at the end of the year too), i see sam walker is off contract at the end of this year too.

I know people had big raps on him, and with kevie at the helm, his family may be willing to give the broncos a second chance (since the cluster **** they caused last time). A halves combo of him and dearden would be relatively cheap and would have the funds to support them with either a top tier hooker and/or fullback. It could be the beginning of decent spine.

Nah I can’t agree. I can’t stand the Broncos administration and they didn’t do things well but he owed the Broncos more than that regardless. If this was 2 years of things being like this then yeah but it wasn’t.

To put it in to context look at guys like Farnworth. He had offers of more money elsewhere and he stayed and stated he wanted to be here to turn things around and I don’t remember him getting himself into a Bali prison.

You can stick up for Fifita all you want but the fact remains is he is a disloyal piece of shit who is low in the qualities that you look for in a decent person and ones that will see him face up to life’s struggles.

But the extra amount the titans had to offer him would’ve been far more if the broncos were still a club that was good to be at. as soon as he got in trouble in Bali, we sent our welfare officer over to help him ... once he gets back, we don't let that affect our offer to him and make him a more than generous offer.

For the record I don’t think Fifita is beyond criticism for taking the titans offer, but to me it’s like when a couple breaks up and both parties were kind of shit. I don’t have a strong opinion either way. But some of the anger aimed at Fifita is irrational.

but that's the point we're making ...

let's not pretend he left for any reason other than money ... if the offers were similar, then he likely stays ... but it took making him the highest paid forward in the history of rugby league to pry him away from the club.

I, for one, don't really blame him from taking the offer. who knows how anyone would handle something like that. but he didn't leave because the Titans were a less "toxic" club or because his mate was there (he has a very good mate still playing for us BTW). he left because the Titans offered 500k a year more than us. quite simple really

sure, as fans you may or may not be happy about the treatment handed to these players but looking at it from the point of view of employees at a business, why would you not put your own self interest first? The club does, at every turn.
