Wayne? Dimitriou? Yow Yeh?

Kahu, Macca, McGuire, Glenn, Roberts, Su’a, the old boys, Kev, Offa?

sure, as fans you may or may not be happy about the treatment handed to these players but looking at it from the point of view of employees at a business, why would you not put your own self interest first? The club does, at every turn.

WTF

but that's the point we're making ...

let's not pretend he left for any reason other than money ... if the offers were similar, then he likely stays ... but it took making him the highest paid forward in the history of rugby league to pry him away from the club.

I, for one, don't really blame him from taking the offer. who knows how they would handle something like that. but he didn't leave because the Titans were a less "toxic" club or because his mate was there (he has a very good mate still playing for us BTW). he left because the Titans offered 500k a year more than us. quite simple really
It simple because you’re simplifying it because it ist easier understand things if you don’t bother to consider that most things have many complicated layers

He chose money over loyalty because a new club offered him heaps of money AND his previous club gave players very little reason to feel loyalty .

Yeah, Broncos pushed a crazy amount of players out of the club in the last few years. Loyalty just doesn't really exist with the way things are being run now.

So you’d feel loyalty to a company that pushes out or tries to force out long term employees instead of upholding their original agreed upon terms of the contract?

loyalty has been dead and buried in rugby league for a decade

So what’s the issue with a kid taking the money? What does he owe the broncos of their is no such thing as loyalty?

do i really have to fucking go through your list ... ok fine, have it your way:

Wayne - got hired to do a job, didn't fulfil his objectives, got told his contract wouldn't be renewed. absolutely nothing wrong that and the same thing every single rugby league club (and business) in the world for that matter, would act.

Dimitriou - again nothing wrong with how the club acted here. new head coaches, choose their assistants. doesn't matter whether, you're the Storm, Roosters or Broncos. unless you're talking about him missing the head coaching job, in which case being an assistant should NOT guarantee you the head coaching role.

Yow Yeh - sad, but due to COVID couldn't be helped. before COVID, we gave him a job for nearly a decade, to look after him after his career ending injury.

Kahu/Macca - weren't guaranteed first grade spots, but weren't forced out either. They choose to leave for greater opportunity . we even treated them so poorly, that we allowed them to come back on their old contracts, if they couldn't find a new club ... HOW DARE US TREAT THEM THAN BAD.

McGuire - asked for a release to secure his future. we granted it

Glenn - we re-signed him and made him captain, how the **** have we treated him poorly

Roberts/Su’a - thought they were entitled to be in first grade regardless off form, requested releases as soon as they were dropped for poor form

the old boys - the old boys spent the last 2 years doing everything in their power to undermine the club. i don't have a great deal of sympathy for them

Kev - being an old boys also should not guarantee you a job. besides we probably did him a favour not getting him to follow Bennett

Offa - gave him a contract he didn't deserve, allowed him to find a new club, while paying a portion of his contract. (probably better for Ofa than if he sat in reserve grade for the next 2 years)

So what’s the issue with a kid taking the money? What does he owe the broncos of their is no such thing as loyalty?

as i've said a million times ... i have no issue with the kid taking the money ... my issue is people pretending he left for reason OTHER than money, he didn't

Literally word for word what i was about to write

All well and good mate but you are looking at it from an outsiders perspective (i won’t bother saying where I think you are being creative with the truth and will say for argument sake that all of it is true). It still boils down to one thing - instability. If I’m at a company and am seeing that level of staff overturn I am not relying on that company for my long term future. Simple.

No one has said we aren’t a laughing stock and I have no arrogance in either myself or the club, that is still besides the point.

The whole ‘he was excused from being loyal because we are going poorly is such a fucking cop out. Pretty easy to be loyal when things are going well.

Anyway go grab a Fifita jersey and cheer on the hero.
It’s not just about onfield success. It is more how the club treats staff and players. It’s the clubs decision making processes. Results are just a symptom.

I wonder how loyal Farnworth would’ve been had he got an offer that was many hundreds of thousands higher. To have so much vitriol against a kid for choosing that significant an amount of money over loyalty to a club that hasn’t shown loyalty to anybody in years baffles me.
Kind of like carrigan, tpj, flegler and lodge all reportedly did? And Haas could have EASILY.... In fact, percentages-wise, the differences were even more from all reports.
The club got him out of shit that most clubs wouldn't be able to do. His arrogance in saying "that's their job" was astounding. No, bailing out people from gaol is NO EMPLOYERS JOB.
There's one reason and one reason alone he got that offer, he played for the Broncos. Outside of the next 2 years of tire pumping by the NRL that the titans will get pre2nd Brisbane team he better hope he absolutely kills it bcos he won't get the exposure again that he got from us. Like us or hate us, we sell papers and we put eyes on tvs, he will get exposure from being an ex bronco and his huge deal will mount the pressure but if he isn't dally m-ing it his contracts will not be growing regardless of a cap increase...

Why is Issac Luke pictured at pre-season training if he apparently hasn't been resigned?
TPJ looks shredded and Riki also looks like a beast.

I just get a good feeling for 2021 seeing guys like Walters and Cartwright leading. We have went from no-names who were all talk to a coaching team full of experience and prestige. I think we'll look like a drastically different team next year.

TPJ doesn't look shredded to me. He looks like he's the fit guy in the office at work. Not super impressive, he was a tank last year. I was hoping had play middle but his body shape looks like he has been told he will be expected to play 80 on an edge.

That's what I was thinking too, cutting to play backrow, which is fine by me, we have enough middles.

I think that's his best position in the long run.

we have many quality middle forwards, Haas, Carrigan, Lodge, Flegler. not as many gun edge forwards
