Why the **** does it matter if Smith is an immortal now, 5 years or 20 years time? Is anyone's enjoyment of rugby league affected by it?

V'Landys is a myth. I can't wait for him to piss off and leave the game alone.
 


Great gesture from the Maroons, Joel has been one of the best journos to cover the game and his yarns actively made me visit the NRL website. They've been turning over a lot of staff lately, I loathe to see what the website will look like moving forward.

To be fair most players wanting out are on more than 350k usually. His reply on instagram while funny, makes him look like a proper dickhead. Posted a photoshopped pic of him mowing.
 
That's awful news, nobody should die that young.

From what I understood he was a leader of their 2019 Jersey Flegg side and had already played some NSW Cup as an U/20. He was a big part of their next generation, I couldn't imagine what some of his team mates are going through.

The official statement from Manly states he fell ill at training and was quickly rushed to the hospital.

Was promoted to their top 30 for this season as well, big chance of making his NRL debut, especially with Fonua-Blake moving on.

According to Weidler, he was stretching after the training session and suffered what was described as a 'Fully body cramp'.

I'm not entirely sure what that means, perhaps a heart attack? Not worth speculating, will wait until word comes out.

Joel was made redundant no explanation.
 
We didn't get an Origin documentary, but I'd imagine Jake Friend got a similar message after the first half of Game III.



I wonder if Ricky took notes?
 
Any news on the 2nd Brisbane team?

I see the Brisbane Roar are playing their season out of Dolphin oval and not suncorp, much better atmosphere for games there. Are Redcliffe a clinch for selection?
 
Can anyone point out the reason players and coaches from SOME teams are on the innovation committee where they will review all the rules? Why not from every team, or here's a crazy idea, no teams! Of course there will be bias & agendas ffs!!!!! Roosters and souths have a strong contingent of course, just like every year these "committees" are in place. Why not THE MOST SUPPORTED TEAM IN THE NRL?

The rules are to work against us and a few other teams.....rule changes after round 2....rule changes when we got the spoon for the last game....all 16 clubs should be involved....can we start another comp like super league...i got a spare 50...thatll keep both oates and mythford

ACT OF DISRESPECT TOWARDS EX-TITANS COACH
More stories continue to emerge about how poorly former Titans coach Garth Brennan was treated by his senior players before being punted midway through 2019.
The Sun Herald recently revealed that players disrespected Brennan but officials decided it would be easier to sack the coach than get the players to toe the line.
A Titans insider has told me that after the players defied Brennan to go on a night out after a heavy loss, he called the senior leadership group in.
He asked them to write down what needed to happen for the club to do better. Responses - which were anonymous - included 'make training shorter', 'have more piss-ups' and 'do more drugs'. The club was aware of the incident at the time - but chose to sack Brennan rather than hold the players accountable.
