The Broncos will evacuate Brisbane tonight for two weeks due to the impending COVID lockdown. Interim CEO Neil Monaghan says all players and football staff will fly to Sydney today and set up a mini hub where they will remain until after next Thursday’s Rabbitohs match. The squad will train in Sydney this week, then fly to Melbourne to meet the Storm on Friday night. Return is yet unknown:

“The players and staff have taken the changes in their stride, and while it’s tough on many of our team with young families, they are keen to get on the road and prepare for a great challenge against the Storm. We will then stay in Sydney to get ready for the Rabbitohs game, which will ensure the continuity of the competition. Coach Kev Walters and all the players and staff are seeing this time on the road as a great opportunity to further strengthen their team bond, especially coming off the back of a morale boosting win.”

Sigh... coming into a game where we are very likely to be slaughtered and we now have to deal with FIFO conditions.

Forfeiting the game would probably be a better option than getting 60 put on us by the shitstains down south and destroying the team's morale

Clear eyes, blue heads, can't lose.

Hmmm, on the other hand, maybe a camp/seige mentality will help them out.
This is how i see it. Kevvie needs to smash it into the players heads that everyone is writing them off, they are playing away from home, against all odds.
Make them embrace the **** out of the underdog mentality.

Give them something to prove as a team vs the world.

I don't think we can perform any worse than we have been for the last 18 months while safely at home in our fancy Brisbane barracks.

So, maybe this sort of move will actually provide a little variation - bring the team together, bond through adversity - create a little fortitude and the sense that together they can overcome anything as a team off the field, and therefore on the field too. There might be some real positive catalysts for growth to come out of this.

It doesn't seem to have hurt the Warriors at all.

With all that origin experience that not just Kevvie but the other assistants have they'll be well informed on how to setup a successful team bonding camp. Thank our lucky stars we have Kevvie at the helm as these next few weeks may well turnout to be the period where we grow as a tight knit unit.
