What a legend this guy has been since he played for us, he might not be the most talented but he brings effort and dedication that most the team lack, even in a defeated team as a half he pulls his weight, IMO the trigger point for our win against Sharks, starting to find his feat in first grade and should be our 6 next year, regardless the kind of player that you have to find a position for culture wise.

I get the feeling if we didn't lose Robati so early against the Tigers, the end result would have been different.

He's starting to learn how to utilize our strengths on that right side. I like the fact he's taking on the line looking to create an opportunity by either putting the backrower into space or poking his nose through and getting an offload away.

He's also a tough competitor that doesn't shy away from the work and there were several times against the Tigers he tried to lift the boys in defence.

His kicking game needs some work, though.

I don't think he's our answer at 5/8. But I would keep him there for the rest of the season. Who knows? Maybe he can become the answer.

Long kicking he is fine but the accuracy of the medium kicks needs big work, given next year Reynolds would take care of most of it I don't think its too big of a problem though, the chances he creates with his line running and passing would compliment Reynolds well as a 6 I think, even as a lock it would work he has a deadly slight of hand pass at the line that no one is prepared for, the amount of line break assists he creates is incredible.

My concern would be that a Reynolds / Gamble halves pairing would be close to the slowest in the league.

His kicking game is weird. Like the results have been ok, but he props just before he kicks it and seems to take an age, he’s going to get absolutely demolished at some point.

Or he could adapt if pressure is closer to him.

Possibly, I’m not trying to take away from him it’s just not a natural action… yet anyway.

I don’t disagree to be honest, his kicking action is weird but fairly effective. But hey, Dearden’s action looks good but look how ineffective he is.

Yeah that’s all I’m saying, he seems to take half a second longer than someone who has been doing it regularly their whole careers.

Ive been fairly dismissive of his ability but he did show me more on the weekend with his ball playing so who’s to say his kicking won’t improve as well 👍🏼

Ability/polish aside he's the one player in the team who never seems to drop his head and leads by example.
This is the main point for me.

What Gamble lacks in natural ability / skill set (I also agree with others, he is slowly showing us more most weeks), he more than makes up for in determination, attitude and competitiveness.

That sort of stuff rubs off on teammates and is one of the intangible / immeasurable things he brings to the team.

Definitely worth keeping around.

The smack on that sharks player turned the game for Nui's try. I cant say that about most others this year.
Agree with others on the kicking, with his attitude this will improve. I was disappointed in him not getting a kick away against the tigers on tackle 5 early in the second half. We then gave a penalty away and leaked two straight tries and no ball for a long period and we know the rest. A restart (drop out type) could have changed all that but that;s probably being harsh.

He gets an A+ for effort and competitiveness and he even does a couple good things out there occasionally. But he's a total passenger against the strong sides and really is far too slow to be a long term option in the halves. But he has been a positive in a really bad side as he leaves nothing out on the field. A future successful Bronco side probably doesn't include him or at the very least, a very limited role.

He's going to learn alot from reynolds coming next year, don't think we've seen the best of him yet.
If staggs gets the 6 id consider running him at 13 in a second 5/8 role.
And there's a reason Melbourne wanted to sign him but he stayed solid with us

His kicks are good enough, not too deep and gets the opposition pinned in a corner. You'd accept that from your 5/8 given he's such a competitor and doesn't back down in defense. He obviously has a nice passing game there too.

You think when Reynolds arrives he will do most of the flashy kicks we need, if Gamble can just maintain a solid kicking game and keep the pressure on that will be good enough, if the choices are Staggs (who I haven't seen play in the halves ever) or Tyson Gamble.. it's Gamble who will be in the halves

There's no Darren Lockyer's waiting in the wings mate, we just need hardened first graders who are prepared to have a go, most footy teams build their team around those kind of players
