POST GAME [Round 21, 2021] Knights vs Broncos

Newcastle fans are kidding themselves if they think are even a fluker's chance of going deep into the finals, last night they had every conceivable chance to put the 2nd worst team in the comp to the sword and they couldn't do it.
They will get absolutely smashed by either Parra or Roosters in week 1, but NSWRL will desperately want Ponga in the finals just as a talking point.

Newcastle also has affiliation across both their network partners in the Johns brothers.

I mean look at their draw across the year... it's almost as easy the cowboys, which should tell you something about how the NSWRL look to manipulate and manufacture results.

Newcastle have been advertised as this dark horse for the comp for like 3yrs and every year they completely shit the bed.... God help them if Ponga ever leaves... hence why they made him captain last night. They've shown their hand early

Levi - Showed why he should be a 14, not a starting 9. He was really good in patches, and made some bad misses in the middle that Turpin wouldn't have, like the really easy break Frizell made up the middle.
Given the defensive workloud our team was in, I would trade a slightly more sloppy defence for the extra attack he provided, he looked much more comfortable at the end of the game then Turpin ever looked, was surprised he was capable of a 80 min performance actually.

I think most knowledgeable Newc. fans aren't even confident that they will make the finals, never mind making a dent if they get there. Like the Broncos, they are very impotent attack wise which explains why they scored only 5 tries despite 60% posession against a team conceding 30+ points a game. The Knights are going nowhere.

Palasia gets one week with an early plea.

The ball itself has to travel over 10 metres.

Interestingly, if the ball is kicked, travels over the line in the air and is then blown backwards it is ruled to still have crossed the line and is a legal kick.
That makes no sense to me, just like in AFL when can run outside the boundary line but hold the ball in.

So it's a different rule for a short kickoff than it is for any other part of the field (touch line, dead ball line, catching on the full in goal?

Same for goals too, it just has to break the plane.

Not @BooKhaki, but there was one pretty embarrassing effort on Fitzgibbon I think it was, where Kennedy just fell over backwards instead of tackling him. Made a 30m break and a try was scored soon after.

Other than that I don't think he was bad.
Yep, saw that. Wrong footed the big unit was. Mind you, that was mid field wasn't it? I mean he played 40 minutes, all you can expect from a bench front rower, cheap too.

**** this pisses me off. People only notice because it is alfie who people know. All other teams do the exact same thing with other trainers only they have a lower profile within the game

A nice little back handed compliment to Alfie, if nothing else. One of the greatest of all time and is absolutely never brought up in Immortal discussions. It's a disgrace frankly.

The Bradman Best situation, he actually had every right to tackle Isaako. Isaako played at the ball so he became fair game then.

But holding onto a player for that long? I don't see how that's not a penalty.

lol good call from Gus.

There are people out there who follow the Broncos so hard (obviously wanting them to lose time and time again), they are better off buying a club membership.
