I do think hes a better NRL centre than NRL fullback at the moment.
Only problem though is will one centre be starved of the ball abit if you've got Staggs at the other centre.
Whoever Kev chooses for the fullback Jersey round 1 hes got to stick with all year to get some good combinations happening.
Nah. Guarantee a bloke a jersey the entire year? Hard pass. Give a bloke 6 weeks, if he turns into Isaako then he gets moved/dropped.

He's clearly a talented kid but he cracked under pressure yesterday, and made a shitload of unforced errors. That's not something we need at fullback. So that at NRL level, and he'll be peeling oranges with Jamayne. If he's earmarked as fullback, I'd leave him in the ISC until he's ripping it up week in, week out. Otherwise he's fighting it out with Herbie for a centre.

I don’t agree. He made one unforced error though I wouldn’t call being tackled at full sprint and trying to play the ball quick “unforced” - unforced is when you drop it cold.

The other 2 errors around that time were offload attempts, one of which he got the ball on the last under pressure.

He is definitely raw but the errors didn’t concern me that much. It’s his casual approach to disarming balls in the in goal which is my concern.

I absolutely wouldn’t say he cracked under pressure. He was far and beyond the best player on his team, the much more experienced halves cracked under pressure.

He didn't crack, he took on too much, Wynnum instead of using him sparingly to get the most out of him threw him the ball at every opportunity and in impossible situations. They haven't done that all season.

He made mistakes for sure but they weren't mistakes from cracking they were mistakes from too much going on for him.

When he came back in the last round they used him out the back and he created two tries down the right hand side with beautiful slight of hand. Yesterday it was just scoop him the ball and hey can you run 100m?

100% .. looked like he was forcing things a bit and trying to come up with the big play. Pretty much what you expect from a young, raw, talented player.

He is average, and we have enough forwards. We had too many middles to keep Bullemor, would be pointless signing Schonig. Unless Storm wanna take Kennedy, then I'd be fine with it.
I don't think that was the reason we let Bullemor go. My good mate met Alfie on GF day and one thing he asked was why did we let Bullemor go. Alfie said that while he was fast, he had a shit motor. At training and in games, he could only go for short periods and would need to come off.

I have made this point about several players but people keep forgetting how little these guys have played in the last two years.

Seven MM games at centre for Falcons in 2019.
No football 2020
2021- 10 ISC games and seven NRL games.

He's probably 20-30 games behind. This cohort will be like a lot regional kids they miss out on playing so much football they take longer to develop.

It's not dissimilar to Turbo when he came up against better teams in the finals.

If nothing is being created around you there isn't a whole lot a player can do... and if they're the star player they will overplay their hand to try and create something from nothing.

And its what you want to see from him.. you dont want him going missing in games because nobody is creating anything for him. His Halves really let him down.
With players like Staggs, Reynolds, Capewell, Haas to name a few he doesn't have to be the player to create the big play.

Cobbo will be a fullback but I suspect he needs a season or 2 in the centres/wing to feel comfortable in the NRL first

You can't judge him on the game yesterday and say he's not up to it, it's simply unfair

Turbo isn't a bad comparison in style but he had a lot more skills with the ball than Cobbo.

At the same age in NYC Turbo had 16 try assists and 32 line breaks from 14 games with 20 tries so he's a long way in front there.

Even tackle breaks aren't close 98 v 70.

He averaged 227m and had that unbelievable game of 486m against New Zealand and four tries.

But again Turbo was probably 40 games ahead of Cobbo.

Ah finally someone with a good analysis of the game, can tell you right now Cobbo with abit of work will excel at fullback especially with a calm experienced playmaker like Adam Reynolds. Just needs to be fine tuned all pre season if he is to run out in the no.1 jersey come round one.

Wouldn't worry too much about Cobbo and the other young blokes, they'll be bigger and better next year.

Gonna be interesting how much muscle they can put on Cobbo, TC, Mam and Willison. Think TC will be almost as big as Haas next year.

And you're comparing it to NYC stats , which surely is/was an easier comp.

TC will Probably transition more into the middle rotation i reckon with some more added size will probably benefit him more with landing a spot on the bench.
Piakura is another one you can throw on that list

The game yesterday showed he was up to it… if people are complaining about a play the ball error and a forward pass where he was trying to create a piece of magic as reasons he shouldn’t be in first grade need to reconsider the fact that they are to very abnormal errors to happen especially a bad play of the ball. Give him a pre-season in the books and send him out there as a 19 year old gun who is gonna whoop ass. You are so worried about development cause Dearden did shit. **** it the levels of difference the two are on at the same age is gigantic. My view on the matter is the teams performance is more important than developing players ‘properly’ (there’s no fucken proper way to develop a player, it just happens naturally and authentically for each different player). Chuck him in and let’s fucken tear it up next year is my opinion.
