IMO, It's not that Farnworth can't pass, it's more his decision making. He backs himself when he should get Oates the ball.

So I'm actually coming around to moving him to the wing. I'd like to see Cobbo at centre (although I wouldn't make these changes while we're still winning)

Cobbo and Staggs are also building an extremely dangerous partnership in both attack and defence... so that's another consideration
It's a pretty good problem to have when they're all firing too.

I think it's been said before but Herbie would be looking at where Oates is when he's accelerating, thinking he's nowhere to be seen and just backing himself. Oates' speed is deceiving because it takes him a bit to wind up so even though he gets there eventually, Herbie has already made the decision to run. I'd like to see them swap a little bit more often. I think Oates has assisted Herbie more than Herbie has assisted Oates in tries so far.

There’s no way I’d be taking on his full salary. I’d be willing to pay 500k, take it or leave it because they are the ones that need to foot the bill if they want to do this.
It’s a good idea in principle, but I’m sure that the rorters won’t have any issues finding a club to take on Keary at 800k.

Nor should they. He’s been a premier 5/8 for half a decade

And if they do, good on them but it shouldn’t be us. Why help out the Roosters get better with no consequence to their cap?

Because 800k for Keary is a pretty good deal and would give us one of the best half partnerships in the game. Reyno and Keary played well together before Keary went to roosters.

I don’t necessarily think it’s a good idea but if you are gonna offer over a mil for Munster you’d defiantly give Keary 800

But it also would significantly improve us

You have to love the media and how they diligently do exactly as Uncle Nick orders. The narrative is already in full swing. When Keary re-signed we were told it was between 850k and 900k and told that even though he was the best 6 in the game it was because of the Roosters culture that he stayed for unders. Now that it looks like he is getting pushed on all the guys on 360 last night we’re taking it in turns to talk about how his contract is 1.3M but clubs will happily pay that. There’s nearly half a million they have created for Uncle Nick.

Have I missed why the Roosters are wanting rid of Keary? I'd 100% sign him now if he was available.

To free up room for Munster.

They can't even get the new Crichton contract registered because they don't have the cap space free

There just trying to create confusion, I think the 1.3M is referring to what it would take for Munster

In the article, they do give contract figures: Tedesco 1.1M; Manu 800K; Keary 850K; Brandon Smith 800K

I know this is so suss! Uncle Nick playing panto with the NRL and pretending they're only one player above the cap. It's hilariously contemptible the way he's playing the rest of the comp like a fiddle.

I'm not arguing that. What I'm saying is that we should not be giving the Roosters a get out of jail free card, we should take advantage of the situation if they really want to go after Munster. I mean sure, we COULD pay the 800k and it would be a good deal...but wouldn't 5-600k and 2-300k off the Roosters cap AS WELL be even better?

how bout keary for 400k and the roosters kick in the rest **** helping them out by taking the whole contract

They're playing Keary at halfback and not 5/8 .. and the belief is that it is really hindering them in attack

They don't think Walker is ready to be the teams first choice halfback
