Anyone else coming to the realisation that Adam Reynolds is actually an even better player than we might have thought he was?

I was honestly going to be satisfied if he simply steered us around the park and helped us get in a position to regularly let our attacking players create points, but I honestly never expected him to contribute in every aspect of our performance the way he has.

I don’t think it’s a huge overstatement to suggest we might have grabbed ourselves perhaps a Top 3 player in the game for what can only be described as an absolute bargain at this point.

It says a lot about Adam as a team man. There were a lot of weapons at Souths in his time there. He was happy to play his role and let others shine. He had all this in his tool kit just waiting for the side that needed him to you use it. I hope his body holds up for another contract.

Happy for Billy too, he had a real stinker a few weeks ago and he learned from it and has improved every week. Tonight was his best game I thought.

It’s been the value buys that have really balanced the side out, TMM, Jensen, Billy. Smart bit of work by Ikin.

He threw some bludgers from dummy half tonight too but he gets a special mention for his try saver on Turbo 14 minutes in. Different game maybe if Tommy scores then

For real though, his comeback has been epic given that he was looking all but finished only a matter of months ago.

I'm confident Kev knows what was happening. He said the middle is now functioning properly again and getting the ball out to him so he's scoring trys again. Mentioned that he nearly had 100 trys before this year.

Hard to argue with the money he’s on. You’d have to say that across the full deal he’s been an absolute steal.

As for the money he’s chasing, it’s probably a bit high, but it’s by no means the most outrageous money we’ve seen some players chasing vs what they actually deliver week to week.

I honestly dont think he has been a steal. He was overpayed at the start ( getting huge money before he even played a game ). Then he was probably underpayed a little now i think he's on more than he's worth. The more i think about it i think in the scheme of things even $750k is too much. He makes a lot of metres, and he is a freak of an athlete, but i still dont think he has enough of a physical impact compared to the real top class props. For me, he's nowhere near Webcke or Civoniciva.

Bloody good to hear Adam say he won't compare Cobbo to Inglis because he is Cobbo. Let him be himself.

If he’s the player he’s supposed to be then he’ll go back to Queensland Cup and dominate it and demand a recall. If he doesn’t, then perhaps he’s more hype than reality at this stage.

He’s already been dropped to Q Cup and his flaws were actually even worse.

Call me selfish but I don't want Cobbo in origin yet. It's too early.

I think it is too early.

The risk of throwing him now with such little experience in first grade is that he will get overwhelmed by the occasion and have a stinker and destroy his confidence, which will only hurt us.

Keep him out for this year. Let him get some more games under his belt and get more experience.

Civo in particular looked less than half the player Haas is at the same age. I’m not saying Haas will get to their level, but I’m certainly wouldn’t want to put my house on him not getting there either.

It’s a good point. Patty is only really having his breakout season now at 25. He showed promise for the first few years but many were starting to wonder if his ceiling was lower than expected. Haas at 25+ is going to be a beast.

I just don’t think we need him on the price he’s asking for.

He gets hurt in the tackle, trainer tends to him, he then limps out to the wing, clearly says something to Selwyn and Selwyn moves to fullback.

I am one of Kevvie's most outspoken advocates but it was literally a case of TMM walking over to Selwyn and Selwyn going to fullback, all in the space of a play.

I'm not saying it's gonna happen this year, but I have to say it: Nothing on this Earth would make me happier than seeing Kevin Walters become a club legend as both premiership player and coach. Footy gods willing it would be a feel good story for such a good bloke.
