I’ve watched the B.Smith tackles a few times and can’t see what he has done wrong

He's done nothing wrong. They were textbook leg tackles, but because there were injuries and it's Storm they are seen as dirty.

These tackles happen every game without injury and no one bats an eye.

Yeah they just looked like good tackles to me. But I’m sure Fox Sports made a big deal of Kent’s comments today so job done on his part.

It’s the grabbing one leg and holding on for dear life that shits me.

Radley did the exact same to our young Willison last year and bust his ACL.

Patty’s MCL was also the result of a one leg tackle. They’re dodgy as **** and should be outlawed.

Radley busted his knee because his body weight landed on the back of Willison's leg.

With B Smith, watch carefully, he goes straight in at the knee and drives, that's where it is dangerous. And you guys are right, currently there is nothing wrong with it but there also wasn't anything wrong with the chicken wing, crusher and any other wrestle technique until the Storm exploited it. A player who is stopped and has an exposed knee, coming in at the side of his knee should be a no no. We aren't talking about a player on a break here, we are talking about a guy who is basically already stopped.

Both tackles the contact is made above the knee, in Feldt's case it was around his shorts, and he slides down. Both players are still running at speed when he tackles them.

Feldt ends up in an awkward position, but it's a contact sport, sometimes that happens.

There is nothing wrong with either tackle and those exact tackles happen in every game. Sometimes injuries happen.

If he actually targeted the knee and contact was made directly with the knee, that would be different. But that's not the case.

Well I’m happy to agree to disagree but the video is here and people can make up their own minds. Given the history of the Storm and this player in particular, questions should be asked, at least to protect exposed knees. There is no need to come flying in like that at the knee.

Even if in the interests of discussion conceding the Feldt one (which I’m not, just for argument’s sake), the second one is bad, he goes flying straight in at the knee and twists, that’s hard to argue.

To be honest I don't see much in those tackles. If Smith was a lone tackler there'd be no problem, it's the guys coming in high and driving back while the leg is locked in position that causes the problem.

But Kent does have a point. If we see more regular injuries out of these types of incidents, how do you stop it? Do we say if someone is tackled around the upper body you can't come in below the hips and vice versa? I think there's enough grey areas in the game already.

The Storm doing a dangerous tackle technique?!! Well I never!

For mine it's a dangerous tackle, basically its like the cannon ball, its not the contact point but the angle and force at which the legs are hit.

Tacklers spearing in at the legs with speed and force when the top half of the player is already held by two other tacklers is totally unnecessary.

He also does those one legged tackles and uses his weight and motion in the tackle to twist the lower part of the leg to give the knee a nice tweak.

I'm not really sure it's deliberate but rather that Brandon Smith just doesn't have a lot going on upstairs, he doesn't have much of a sense of self preservation for his own body so he's definitely not thinking about the impact his tackle technique can have on other players.

If Kent is worried about these tackles and potential damage to knees, I wonder where he was when JWH was blatantly trying to **** up our boys' knees twice in one game?

I actually thought the Katoa tackle on Brimson was worse... it's like an ankle lock combined with a crocodile roll. Katoa got a hold of the leg/ankle and rolled with it regardless of whether the upper body was going as well

You could tell it was bad because AJ was about to kick him in the head just to get him off his leg.

Totally agree mate but the good thing is the spotlight is now on it.

The 'Crocodile Roll'..............perfect name for it! 👍

Paul Crawley, in an article about how Gould needs to make a decision on the next Bulldogs coach pretty quickly has reported that the Bulldogs have gone completely cold on Shane Flanagan, with resentment over the way Flanagan has been actively campaigning over Barrett’s coaching grave.

if they're not careful, they'll miss their preferred option because IMO the Tigpies aren't far off sacking Madge
