NOT CROSS FORUM NRL 2022 Round 19 Discussion

The "Hand of Foz" was the best thing to ever happen to the Cowboys. They've been kissed on the dick by the NRL and the referees ever since.

was the 7 tackle set from the Sharks(?) before or after that? That added to JT and Green becoming massive whinging bitches

Annersley will have to spend half his weekly briefing talking about captains challenges. and trying to justify why the refs either don't know or don't follow the rules.

in our game against the Eels the ref allowed Parramatta to basically go fishing for a penalty, which they can't do, they are only permitted to challenge a call the ref made. not a non-call from earlier in the pay.

now allowing the Cowboys to challenge a non-call

I think that was the year before.

The call is wrong on multiple levels

How did they even get to challenge? no call was even made, the game wasn't stopped, if it was stopped it would've been due to it being the end of the game and the referee blowing full-time at which point, I am fairly certain it can't be challenged

Then there's the ruling, he's literally running backwards towards the flight of the ball with only eyes on the ball, Kyle Feldt is as big a cheat as anyone else in the NRL. The laws of physics will tell you for his body to end diving that way with 2 players running literally the same direction, it's near impossible

And the video ref is even saying "does he run back in the direction of the ball, or on an angle to block Feldt?". IT DOESN'T MATTER. If he holds his line, he can run in whatever fucking direction he wants.

Feldt is a blight on the game. Every tackle he holds the defenders, pushes one to the side so they are not square (or deliberately steps to the side to do so), tunnel-balls before getting to his feet, and then takes out the markers.

I am seriously wondering if that was the deliberate play - don't kick it to get the ball back (it was too deep for that anyway), kick it for Feldt to run in to some one and milk a penalty.

Please tell me Payten rips it up them in the press conference.

Can’t wait for Annersley to explain this away.
I wonder if they can reverse the decision as it happened on full time and directly influenced the result.

Lol I’m dreamin

First it was the Hand Of Foz. The next year it was the 7 tackle set (that happened in like the first 20 minutes so not exactly a game-defining call). The next year there was another one where the Cows knock it on at the death, it gets called up, Thurston whinges, they go to the video. The video correctly calls it a knock on. Cowboys go in to meltdown at being robbed 3 years in a row.

They will justify it by claiming that the touchie made a call or spoke to the on field ref before the play died. It'd likely be a blatant lie, but to me that's their only way to justify the decision.

It's near on unexplainable

How can you explain how they were even able to challenge? no call was made and there was no time left on the clock
The decision is a howler too for reasons I have already said

In cricket the fielding team can call the batsman back if they were given out and something untoward took place, the Cows should be on the blower to the NRL getting that result overturned because that's just blatantly cheating and it looks so wrong to any neutral, I am sitting here as a neutral blowing up. I can't imagine how fans of the 16th placed Wests Tigers are feeling right now

Another question…
How come the clock didn’t run out as tigers were converting the try?

I think it's 90 seconds from the try then the clock must stop, if it's in the last 5 minutes of play. That's probably the only thing they didn't get wrong.

That's another thing, there was 1 second to go, surely he has to blow time on while the ball is in flight?

That was 2013 before Green was the coach.

Green was actually really level headed when he first joined the Cowboys. After the controversial 2014 exit he was pressed on a number of incidents but blamed the 30 point deficit they had to overcome as the biggest issue.

It wasn't until the 2016 Good Friday game he really started to sook. He was the first coach to go after the bunker and he carried on for weeks afterwards using other examples to point out how flawed it was. Then it just became a trend despite all the stats showing the Cows got the best rub of any team.

imagine being a tigers fan right now. As a neutral that one call has ruined every game that was on this week.

has just put a whole downer on being a nrl fan.

Absolute disgrace what we fans have to put up with.

No one will want to admit it but surely there has to be at least a behind the scenes investigation into the nrl and betting agencies i just cannot believe people can be that bad at there jobs when there is not single person watching the game that agrees with decisions like this,

I guess this is blowback for the Ben Hunt non call at the end when the Dragons beat the Raiders a few weeks ago… That should have been a penalty and this clearly should have been play on… both wrong calls

That was a fucking disgraceful decision.

How fucking shit would the Tigers feel? They play their hearts out against the second best team in the comp. They score late to snatch the win, but then the officials make one of the worst decisions I’ve seen and hand the win to the Cowboys.

All that effort undone by the officials. Fucking disgrace.

nrl need to start coming down hard on players milking like feldt. not sure how but you see shit like this from feldt so much he's more an actor then footy player now days but gets away with it consistently
