Evidently, making videos watchable is hard for the NRL too:

This reminds me of the Broncos under the former regime. Like seriously, has the former Broncos' management taken over the NRL? Do they get the worst applicants in every single position or something?

Probably that they are accepting and respecting their religious beliefs but they arent doing the same thing for Izzy.
The issue with Folau was when he started with the hate posts on Social media, it's not the same thing.

The media went to Brookie the other day to try question the players and to their credit they shut their mouths and said nothing.

I mean compare it yourself:

Its still hypocritical. Regardless of how they express them ( and i'm not a fan of either ) you cant really come out and say as V'landys did " you have to respect the players religious and cultural beliefs. Those players are taking a stance and they have every right to " Its both shitty, one is expressed far worse than the other, but its what they believe.

Tallis on nrl 360 trying to claim that the titans paid market price for Fifita and that the broncos offered him 1 mil lmao
Well he was one of the galaxy brains encouraging this madness at the time, not surprising he is trying to deflect.

I think the most inclusive jersey you will ever get… is the Standard rugby league jersey. and that is very inclusive I think.

I think Tallis is unfortunately a real victim of circumstance. He was a great footy player, he's definitely a great talking head to have as a foil for Matty Johns, he's passionate about NRL, but he's not the best advocate for dealing with these big topics, where I'm not sure he even has all the information to go by.

I normally don't have much time for Gus and his opinions, but I do respect that he is deep in the NRL High Command and Media Communities, so what he says in here regarding the Referee factions is extremely interesting. I assume he means the Sutton Bros. and possibly Annersley are the ones who push technology.

Definitely find league is becoming too robotic in its interpretation IMO. I don't think we can go back from where we are, though.

DCE in his post-game interview:
"I think we need to be really careful about how much we push onto the players to commercialise the game. If you look at a dressing room as an NRL squad, it is very diverse and it is inclusive, so I just wonder how much we need to do as athletes to push out there, because we already are a lot of things of what we try to represent."

Such an impressive young man.

Nathan Brown has been hired by the Eels to lead a review into their Elite Pathways program

Parramatta Eels General Manager of Football Mark O’Neill said

“Nathan has a wealth of experience both as an NRL player and Head Coach at every level within the game. Importantly, Nathan has been exposed to many pathways programs and is highly passionate about this space.

“Through his involvement, Nathan will be able to give us an informed view of where our programs are at and what opportunities there will be to make improvements in line with best practice.

Klein too would definitely be part of that faction

I can see the logic here...

Nathan looking over their operations: "Hey! I was doing that at Newcastle, noice!"
Mark O'Neil side whisper to his assistant: "Whatever that is, change it"

If the strategy is to hire him and then do the exact opposite of all his suggestions, then I say pure genius.

the thing is though is Gould, Gallen and co. are employed by the media to generate clicks and have people switching on to their TV programs. This is largely achieved through creating controversy. Much of that controversy is produced through a contrarian attitude which sets up a binary situation i.e. 'I say this while they say that'. So on many occasions such as this even if the ref had blown full time and walked away if the Cowboys kicked up a stink Gould and co. would be on it like a shot saying 'the technology is there, why did the referee not use' and off we go on another manufactured drama.

For mine it's the media tarts who are ruining the game not the technology. More often than not it is their opinions that get given oxygen to generate controversy. As the old saying going there is no good or bad publicity when you want to get known, only publicity. This is one reason why Peter Sterling walked away from commentary he just could not stomach the faux outrage that some of his fellow commentators were manufacturing.
