I'm happy the Dolphin's affiliation paid dividends. The Capras have done well in recent years to shake off that park footy reputation and go from strength to strength.

It's the one aspect of the Dolphins brand I'm a fan of. CQ needed a proper pathway and far too many players were getting chewed up and spat out in other systems. They have an opportunity now where 1-2 QCup games could be enough to earn you a Train & Trial. From there, you never know.

On the other hand, it was good to see the Seagulls make a game of it. The Titans need to stick by their juniors and build up their base. I've really rated their recruitment and while they had to bend over backwards to keep Pahulu and Kini, I'd rather that than make the same mistake and sign a Dominic Young.

Can confirm the Dolphins are active up in Bundy, no surprise really with the Kaufusi's in town, but they had a dev officer at one of the biggest local club's sign on day the other week, running activities with the kids. That's both Dolphins and Dogs being involved in Bundy now.

A far cry from 25 years ago with Wayne Bennett coming to talk at local schools, and there were a few blokes around town involved with the Broncos .
 
Watching Norths- Madden loves to run. it's not always the correct option but he's having a dash. Madden and Ahearn got them back in it with some nice try involvements.

Willison only got through half the game but was powerful made ground with every run.

Piakura 80 minutes, great fighting try but bad miss on Hamilton and Bears scored.

Four errors- just can't do that.
 
Loved Mariner's exit run but a lot more selective about his runs- he didn't work hard but worked smart.

Five runs for 132m with two line breaks.

That run off his line and the footwork was tremendous like I said no way he does that 12 months ago.

So good that we have the opportunity to let him develop in Q Cup.
