I remember there was a report of an argument with Kevvie at training .
Then Paix was never seen again .

This year he wins Qcup hooker of the year this year , But couldn`t even make the bench at the Broncos .
I`d be interested to near the back story .
Did he actually win Queensland cup hooker of the year?

I know te kura is big, but he just looks too slow and not vicious enough with his running. I know he is young, but I am not sold on him.

I am concerned he is just another kid that has come through the grades getting by because he is much bigger than everyone else, but when they hit first grade where the defence is better, struggle because they didn't have develop other skills or endurance to get by.

You're a hard judge, he played 3 games.

He's played 64 minutes all up. The hype around him is all based on him being huge and gangly, which worked for him at Cup level, purely as a battering ram. He managed to exploit it in his first NRL game. In a way that Payne and Patty surprisingly don't.

@NSW stables is right: he's yet to prove his worth on the NRL stage beyond his dimensions.

I look forward to his combination with Mozer bearing fruit in the higher grade, but I would reserve my judgement for now as to whether it will pan out.

Sleepy Joe ?

Well , note to self .
Do not listen to this guy`s player ratings .
By the time Joe ofa was 22 years old he had about 50 nrl games under his belt, had played in a grand final, and was highly touted for origin. I never have or never will rate him that high but don't let confirmation bias cloud your memory, he was highly rated at the same age....and look where that's gone... that's the point...

By the time Xavier Willison was 22 he had 2 knee reconstructions .
Apples and oranges .

I`m sticking to my earlier statement .

Thoughts on letting Cobbo go and using the money to sign some quality back row depth? Having Staggs Mariner as your centres, Arthars on one wing and even a guy like Quai Ward given a run on the sting, his stats in q cup were quite good in regards to run metres and hit ups, also quality in the air and would play for minimum - gives us time for our young outside backs to develop for another year or two

They tell me Quai Ward is not up to it in NRL .
I asked about him a cpl of weeks ago as in what happened to ?

An in form Cobbo will win you a lot more games than a good back rower .
Whether he can regain that form I don`t know .

I don't think a prime Greg Inglis could make up for the points we concede from having PIakura starting. Never seen a worse defensive season from a backrower, I'm struggling to remember any regular starting backrowers at all that have been a defensive liability in the NRL.

Even that's over paying. What's he shown? Talent yes. But you could buy about 20 different players who have played at the level he did this year for years for that. That is paid on the assumption that he is going to get better, I could give you 1000 case studies that show they stay the same or get worse about more often than they improve. Not saying he will, but I am so ****ing sick of this club over paying for these young guys bcos their manager is sucking them off bcos the media has hyped them up. He has shown no more ability and talent than Joe ofa did at the same age, how's that going? He wants more than another club offers him from the broncos (a club that developed him and stick with him through injuries with the best support and facilities money can buy?) than CYA. NEXT... and there will be 3 or 4 in the next few years I can guarantee. Over spend on the spine and that its
Maybe that is overpaying. It's hard to tell with the salary cap these days.

I definitely disagree with the Joe Offa call though. Willison is a way more damaging ball runner and has better work rate at similar ages. The only thing that's held Willison back are injuries

You're a hard judge, he played 3 games.
He shouldn't have been been brought back for the last match of the season, it was clear as day he wasn't 100% after returning from injury in the Intrust Cup let alone ready for a return to NRL. I think a fairer indication is to see how he handles hopefully an injury free off-season and trials.

I know that they can negotiate from November 1, but I would rather wait and see what they produce this year before we decide on Staggs and Cobbo. Before this year, I definitely would have preferred Staggs to leave before Cobbo. However, after off-field dramas involving Cobbo nearly every year since his debut, it's making it hard to back him to stay out of the headlines off the field.

Having him and Ezra on the same side in defence just made it worse too .
Other teams worked out these guys get panicked when there is more than 1 runner . A cpl of times they took no one and the opposition breezed in for tries .

Said it before both Piakura and Mam can be very good front on , but run some angles and or multiple options they are not up to par .
Add Mozer to that has trouble with angled runs group too . Benny Teo has work to do .

I love selwyn as a player 100 percent, it’s just his worst game is so far away from his best and needs to find consistency- the problem is clubs are going to throw massive money at him, but his form doesn’t warrant massive money - he should repay Brisbane and put in a solid year of consistence footy to demand a big wage and even then can we afford all of these top $$ outside backs - someone will have to give
Madge has a good headache
