I think people are setting too high expectations with this kid (Mozer). Hope he does well, but let him play at least a dozen nrl games before thinking the 9 is "solved" for the foreseeable future.Future proofed.
Courier Mail reckons we’re in the hunt for DCE in 2026…
I would assume Mozer, Paix and Bukowski are the ones being retained. Will be interesting to see what happens with our hookers. Paix off contract, Walters off contract next year. Bukowski, when does he get upgraded to top 30?
Does Walters keep a roster spot as halves cover even if we re-sign Paix? Will also depend on what happens with our halves going forward, still a few unknowns there.
Hunt
Mozer
Paix
Walters
Bukowski
ok great. So if the Courier Mail backs it then I take it that the only club less likely to sign him for 2026 is Manly.Courier Mail reckons we’re in the hunt for DCE in 2026…
Some interesting stats in the CM yesterday: Cherbourg has the highest average downloads per household of any area in QLD with 865 GB per month. Compared, for example, with Toowoomba City's 256GB per month.Week or so before the RD 1 game apparently.

I reckon it's Kayo.

Feels like yesterday that we were dealing with this saga in 2023 and relieved that we would have a 2 year break from it hahaNot this again....

I think a short term extension that lines up with the next TV rights deal is probably best for both parties. Not this again....

Isn’t Haas already on 1.1 or something? If a club wants to pay him 1.5+ (around what you’d think it’d take to get him out of Brisbane), which is more than what Cleary is on, then good luck to them. Not this again....

Current tv rights end at 2027, so agree, maybe we just do a quick 1 year extension (similar pay) to get him to that.I think a short term extension that lines up with the next TV rights deal is probably best for both parties.
Are the new rights and CBA lined up to start in 2027 or 2028??
I think Payne is dealing in short term extensions to keep his value flexible... he was pretty vocal last time about not liking the 6yr deal he signed as an 18yr old
Yea, dude is a million dollar player, but I wouldn't go too much higher than that.Isn’t Haas already on 1.1 or something? If a club wants to pay him 1.5+ (around what you’d think it’d take to get him out of Brisbane), which is more than what Cleary is on, then good luck to them.
Arey will be on shit all if he re-signs, but the journos already knew that and are looking for drama
Edit: LOL the article lists Gosi and Paix. Hmmmm do we throw cash at them or retain the best prop of all time? What a hard decision!
