Is there ANY chance Ben Ikin would come back in a GM role to oversee the football department in its entirety much like a Gould type arrangement? While DD can just deal with the board and make sure we are making money and approve the obligatory, tacky, ill-timed social media posts.

Calling @FACTHUNT to check Ben's curiosity level.

Ben Ikin is a munter but I'll do anything to fix the club and if running through Ikin is what it takes then so be it

I’ve got back into Jiu Jitsu in a big way and following UFC / MMA more than the NRL to be perfectly honest these days. It’s more than just the Broncos stinking it up. The NRL is slowly rear naked choking it’s own sport into submission and I am quite bored with it, mostly.

Didn’t even watch origin the other night. Was watching old Steve “Wonderboy” Thompson fights…

🤣
Yep. I watch way more MMA than footy these days. Have barely watched a Broncos game over the past 6 or so weeks (and glad I've missed them). I only remembered Origin was on about an hour before kickoff and ended up getting bored after half time and just had it on in the background while doing other things.

Something is happening next week watch this space…
You really typed this and hit 'post reply'

Why wouldn’t there be? The Broncos would represent an unfulfilled challenge for Ikin and after running the QRL he’d be better placed to take on a senior leadership role at the Broncos

Exactly. I love this.

More likely that he'd be trying to position himself for CEO if DD goes out the door with Madge.

If the $$ were low enough, what would we feel about going for Big Papa for some forward leadership?

Or is he too far gone? Been pretty handy still this year from what I've seen.

Apparently Raiders aren't likely to offer him a new deal.

Definitely wouldn't wanna break the bank. But we could definitely use a leader like him.

no, he wants to be a CEO not a GM of footy.

secondly, I'm still waiting for someone to explain what he actually did in his first stint here, especially given many people seem to be so keen for him to take a step backwards and come back here

Yeah I’ve been saying it for a while.

QLD legend, has an aura, heaps of experience.

Not sure he’d survive or even by in to a Madge style workload though Sticky is probably the closest thing to Madge from an emotional level.

If you could land him a Taupau type deal

Edit: wow he only just turned 33. I thought he may be in his late 40s by now

I reckon Ikin is running QRL these days. He’s got entire state of QLD to look after the betterment of footy from grassroots. Now, don’t ask me why we have been terrible in Origin both men & women for the past 2 years. It’s a different story all together.

Coming back to Ikin, the Bronx job will be a demotion to what he’s doing now & will potentially be a conflict of interest. I don’t reckon he would be interested in coming back to us.
