Golf - Who Plays?

All about the ball that suits you, and what spin rate you need, and at the end of the day, how much you're willing to spend. If you wanna keep it cheaper, and don't mind a spinny ball, I recommend the Kirkland from Costco.

I migrated from TP5 to Bridgestone Tour balls when Golf Clearance Outlet sold them for $43 a dozen, I bought about 12 dozen. Now I'm playing at Wynnum instead of Brookwater, that should last me over 18 months. I rate them on par with TP5, and very slightly behind a ProV1.
People pay so much for golf balls, but honestly unless your scratch golfer just get some cheap sritzon balls.

You hit 52 110-115m? That's genuinely long hitting.

Yeah, my 50 goes about 120m when I'm hitting it well. PW is 125-130.

Obviously depends on address and how much loft I'm going for. I don't have as much height or spin as others

Nah, strongly disagree. I'm a mid single figure marker, and I absolutely notice. Zero chance I don't use a ball that suits me.

That's huge, PGA tour numbers. How far you hitting dog?

I have heard that about the Kirklands, I'll probably grab a 24pack next time i'm at Costco to test out.

That's what I mean though, single digits players should use a better ball. But for higher handicap players it's a bit of waste of money to me.

It really does depend. If you don't care about your score, you should use any ball. If you are trying to score well and improve, the right golf ball for your game helps.

Surely not... quick google and those guys hit PW anywhere from 135m-155m.

My ball striking is decent but I only started playing golf 2-3 years ago. Any pro golf coach would have a field day with my technique because it's all over the shop haha

50 deg is a strong gap wedge. I thought you said you were hitting your 52deg 115+, not PW.

I'm not a relatively long hitter depending on who you ask, but my 52deg is my 95-105m club.

Not going to say I've worked it out because we all know how that goes, but I think I had a bit of a eureka moment with my wedges yesterday at the range.
Essentially, was never using the sole properly and was playing them in the middle of my stance like an iron.

Moved it to just behind my front left heel, weight forward on the front, hands forward over the ball, 9-3 swing ... everything dead straight. pw/48/54/60, all dead straight with clean contact and soft landings... went home and tried the same thing with my daughters plastic balls, same result...

it was a real what the **** moment.

We can all have a good day at the range but on the course is completely different. Terrible lies, sand traps, rough and hills. Plus the thoughts you will have while playing too.

without doubt, but the fact that I'm even hitting consistently off mats with wedges is new territory for me. they actually feel like wedge shots with control, not just sculls that are gonna airmail the green.
mentally knowing that hey, i have hit these shots somewhere before, will at least take some of the doubt out of my mind. might be able to address the ball with some degree of confidence, which doesn't really exist at present lol.

Let us know how you go on your next round mate.
