I’d still love to get D Fifi back. His value would’ve plummeted after the year he’s had.
I bet you wanted Lodge and TPJ, too.

I really dont understand fans with this mentality, especially as we live through this Cobbo saga. Broncos are in the process of trying to change the culture of the club and get rid of players who only show up when they can be bothered. Discipline and attitude are everything.

Yes we need some better edges, yes Fifita has talent - but he's not the answer.

BTK has met with the Detroit Lions and NY Jets. Apparently considering a release at the end of the year.
I dont hate the idea... it feels like he's almost too big for NRL at this point.

Conditioning sounded like it was an issue this past preseason, having to come back from a foot injury, so no running.

He seems to be getting a lot of injuries.

it's likely he needs more time to grow into his massive frame, but that could take a long time and would be a long development process in a salary cap league that doesnt allow it.

It would be a shame to lose someone that the club has put a lot of time into and he looks like he has good skills for league (showed some nice ball playing and offloads in the trials)... but he might just be too big

I get what your saying but without him, with have no other gun forwards coming through, at least not in the short term and Haas is no guarantee to hang around either. It would absolutely suck to lose him. If only we had Tripp dollars we could use on the side to keep our talented juniors around.

Yeah that's why it would suck given the amount of time the broncos have invested in him.

I'm not sure what contract he was on... probably a smallish one considering he was just entering the top 30 and it was through to 2027.

Will be hard to replace someone on a small contract that was expected to be brought into the top 17 sooner rather than later.

Maybe they look to vulture a junior in another system that is blocked?

I'm still wanting Jibasaki to make his way to Brisbane... they could also try to grab someone like Ryley Price who I think went to penrith? but I'm not sure how he's going down there.

It depends how much he is on for me. If it's a bigger contract based on potential then ye let him go, if he's still cheap/minimum wage I'd want to at least make sure there was someone we could get before we release him

He's contracted to 2027... id be releasing him only if we get him back should it fail.

Don't want to release him only for him to sign a deal with Dogs in September 2026, because "it didn't work out"

Im not too upset if we lose him, hes not tearing it up in even Qcup and doesn't deserve to be in top 17. Im not saying he isnt training hard but isnt showing us anything.

KM is literally the CEO of Ord Minnett - why can't he get them all some nice NRL approved placements/block trades that would be NO different to Tripp's Bluebet/BETR arrangement.

Agree with @BroncsFan though - happy to release him only if we get him back should he be homesick etc.

Other than just being big, I don't see what he could really offer american football.

From what i have seen to date, he is not terribly mobile and does not have off the mark explosive power required at snap. He would be pretty novice to playing the game (in person-video games dont count) so would not have the nuances of it yet.

There are hundreds of thousands of big kids that grew up playing American football, that already have a headstart having played the game since they were young.

If he goes, I think he will become another one of the bronco juniors "what ever happened to?".

Those big guys in the nfl can also run faster than our wingers.

Amazing how you’re all ready to release him based on random nfl Australian agent (that isn’t BTK’s) making commentary

I wonder how much money the knight's offered Gagai for him to turn them down?

The guy can play fullback, centre and wing all to a high standard. And kicks goals.

He's going to be a great pick-up for someone.

$300k apparently... I think there was an option for $400k which they didn't activate.

This for sure. BTK has spent his sporting life preparing for NRL in which you need to be a bit leaner and be a "jack of all trades" of sorts. American football players train for one specific position. Very hard to crack.
