And remember Melbourne & Penrith have the refs just swinging off their dicks, waiting for any excuse to give them a leg-up. It's clear that the refereeing team do not have the same attitude towards Brisbane. That whole period of The's dominance tonight came from relentless penalties & 6-agains when it was clear our forwards were on top. And then consider that the Panthers only beat the ****ing Titans because the refs, all of the refs on the field and in the bunker, refused to acknowledge a clear high tackle... these other teams are far from perfect either.
Someone said in the live game thread about this being manufactured 'entertainment' and they are correct, you could just so obviously tell that the league wanted the "Thecliffe have booted the Broncos out of the 8" storyline. It was reffed for exactly that.

Back to your point, It was so hilarious to see Penrith and Melbourne get into a bitchslapping fest over which team was dudded by the refs more. The refs were so confused with what to do that they ****ed it up for both teams until they crept into golden point, for the EnTeRtaiNmEnT.

Wish the club would start calling out all of what you've said.

My opinion is that only forwards Haas and Carrigan should be allowed to twist and fight in the tackle as they often gain post contact meters. The rest should do what everyone else does and as soon as contact is made with the defence they should look to get their front to the ground for a quick play the ball.
As much as riki annoys us he got some very quick play the balls tonight.

I wonder:

How many 6 agains against us?

How many of Reject’s forward passes were let go?

Did anyone noticed that as soon as The Rejects scored, it’s an instant Try confirmed contrary to our Try’s where NSWRL bunker took forever to Confirm?
Fcukin rotten shit.
Not to mention the headshots that were ignored against us, with the bunker intervening when we did it to them and a knock on missed by everyone.

True, different approaches work for different groups as well. They seemed to respond to Hunt.

It definitely worked tonight, but has the possibility of backfiring spectacularly. Reynolds' leadership has also worked, there were a heap of comebacks / last minute wins in 2023, but even this year, the Sharks, the 2nd Bulldogs win, it all came from trusting the process and waiting for the opportunities.

There is something special though with a Ben Hunt "follow me" masterclass where he's folding back-rowers one-on-one and tearing the opposition's tired middles to shreds.

Finally we bend/exploit the rules with the smart scrum play. There is no way the ref could prove that it was intentional the first time. Feels like we have been behind the top teams on this aspect for so long now.. Well played broncos.

Oh, and eat a bag of fish dicks dolphins.

I reckon from the time Smoothy came in along with Payne, our entire approach changed with mongrel. He connected well with our 7 & 6 and knew where the footy should go to.

Smoothy’s defense is immense & his passing is good. I can’t say the same with Paix this game.

A lot of those penalties were self inflicted. Like a billion high tackles...
It shits me that we got pinged for a bunch of high tackles, half that were milked and another handful that were the result of the Dolphins dropping to the ground and eating shots that would have otherwise wrapped around the waist, and yet not a single Dolphin went off for a HIA.

Farcical.

The difference is the ref warned us about doing it intentionally and the commentators called it out hard.

If it was the Riff or Storm, the ref wouldnt say a word and the commentators would be nutting all over themselves at the "clever" gamesmanship.

- Whoever our attacking coach is, the man who is supposed to organize our setplays and our offensive "philosophy", sack them.

- Defensive coach isn't far off either. Is that Barrett? Yeah well, why is it surprising we're conceding 28 when that spaz is given yet another gig he doesn't deserve.

Scatter gun !

Barret is the attack coach ....
