GRAND FINAL WEEK Brisbane Broncos vs Melbourne Storm

Do I wear my 1992 replica, 2009 jersey or my 2025?!

I'm hoping Madge realises that Patty and Payne need a break (maybe not together) and times the breaks well.
I reckon Payne off at 25mins... comes back on at 35mins for Patty... Patty back on somewhere between 45-50th minute.

Alternative ends up being Patty just plays 80mins, but I can see Payne getting a break at that 25 minute mark and back on before halftime.

Allows him to be full impact across a longer period... defence needs to be on its game for those 10mins that he's off though, because that's when we've been conceding.

Patty may not need one given he's had 3 weeks off, but I'd like to see him full impact all game and we have Smoothy there to cover the ball playing role if he does need a break.

Sounds like ladbrokes must have a pretty big betting pool then.

They should have plenty of coin both ways, I saw ads on FB on consecutive days - first was Storm paying $8, the next was Broncos paying $10.

I think people are backing Storm simply out of habit, and I can't blame them:

25% all-time win rate and 20% in Shitney.

This year is different.

And please use our captain's challenge wisely. Even in both finals we blew it on dumb challenges (although the Ezra escort was a 50/50 at best).
Storm will absolutely treasure their challenge... because they know it will be tight and they know the rule book better than the refs... especially how to exploit it.

I don't know if we have enough smarts/control across the team for them to know whether it's definite overturn or a 50/50 and they feel hard done by.

Broncos should just put a rule in place that if we're in front we're not using it... unless it's one like "did you touch it or not"... they should know if they've touched it, and if it's not clear then bunker will call it inconclusive and retain.

If it's a 50/50 on a strip or on a blocker/escort, etc. just leave it and defend... especially if it's in the first half.

If it's the second half and we're behind then you start considering for the 50/50's, but it needs to be treated like gold... because if the ref isn't calling penalties then it might become crucial later in the game.

Olympic park would be their old ground in Melbourne wouldn't it?

How would we have played them like 10 times in Sydney?

Olympic Park Stadium is (was) in Melbourne.

100% this. Plus if we burn it early you know they’re going to have a sneaky rake at the ball in multiple-men tackles
