Broncos Roster, Signings and Rumours Discussion 2026

If Haas offered 10M over 2 years with paying minimal tax his gone

He has his ring, he gave us what we all needed and wanted, and with all the shit he has had to put up with in his private life, if he can get the chance for himself and his family to live like rockstars, who has the guts to say no to him?

Pezet would be a great get if reyno did decide to go out on a high.
Madge and Braith are very close add to that braith is a closet broncs fan. Reyno as a halves coach and with Hunt there also to learn off, would be an unreal opportunity. Obviously he’ll earn more elsewhere however who wants to be stuck at the back-to-back gf losers down south.

Holy shit.

Unwanted by Souths and Dragons...imagine Ilias comes to the Broncos to fulfill his destiny of learning under Reynolds and helping take us to another premiership with Hunt. ....my penis would never go down.
Mine still hasn’t yet…

Hunt Reynolds and Duffy is pretty good competition
you are talking for the future right? hunt and reynolds are not going to be playing in 18 months time let alone 5+ years which really leaves blacks competition as duffy,a third option wouldnt hurt at all and ilias wont break the bank imo

The meltdown would be epic.

Ilias is not a front Line half. He doesn't improve Duffy or Black. If Hunt and Reynolds both finish up next year and half way through the season we aren't confident in Black or Duffy we go for a decent half to replace them in 27.

No need to do anything with the halfback situation. Broncos best success has come from home grown halves.

Hunt still looked good for most of his time in the 7 this year, despite having somewhat of an ordinary game against the Raiders (apart from the field goal). His body does not look nearly as broken as Reyno's.

I'd be trying to keep him around for another year and let Black come through naturally over the next two seasons.

Agreed... I think halfback looks ok for the next 2 years at least.

Bhunt and Reyno for next year, but Duffy and Black in the background as depth and competing for that spot in 2027.

Thats huge fear Walsh will be the crown nrl player to get they may give him too good to refuse money.

It's only a matter of time until R360 targets Walsh, right?
he won't leave his daughter.

As for Haas, his daughter is fast approaching school age and his two youngest brother are in school, still under his care, with their mum in prison here - if he leaves, he's going on his own and I just don't see it.... I could be wrong, but I think it would be highly unlikely if we take care of him. Payne is also the kind of bloke the club would keep around after his career. He is a ready made role model for young blokes coming through, particularly from troubled backgrounds and making something of yourself.

That and R360 could be here today, gone tomorrow. The whole concept is based on them being able to make bank off it, as Payne is under contract for their first season, if things go sideways, there may not be a second season anyway. The countries they are trying to market to are not even Rugby countries, it's very likely to be a gamble at best that he even gets what he's promised money wise. International Rugby is off the table at least for the Wallabies.

If he locks in at the Broncos, he'd be taken care of for the rest of his playing career and then some.
