POST GAME [PREMIERS, 2025] Broncos vs Storm

A lot of folk on here praising @Galah for his sacrifice in not watching the match, and rightly so.

But, can we also get a bit of credit going the way of @Locky’s Left Boot, who dropped an astounding $1k on the Storm to win. The crazy mother****er did it, he bought us the grand final.

Back to normal today. So many great stories over the last three days.

- Kevvie wasn't there but Rach, Jett and Jack were there with Bill.
- Jason Hetherington with the twins.
- So many old boys, Reed, Lockyer, Gillett, JYY, Prince, Hannant, Petero and Hancock.
- Nash Dawson with Walsh and Mam. How happy is he with his two clients.
- Casino on Sunday night with every player on stage.
- Walsh's former partner being there to look after their daughter and share the moment with Reece.
- Mayor of Toowoomba getting a photo of Paix, Fergurson and Ciesiolka together and them happily posing together for their city.
- Bukowski jumping around like a lunatic at fulltime- he was one year old at the 2006 Grand Final.

I said on Sunday that one on one front on defence would win this, and I think the Broncos stopped four tries doing just that.

So many injuries- which every premiership team has but Broncos had Hetherington on no legs, Payne on one ankle, Smoothy has shoulder problems, Mam wasn't playing again but worked so hard to get back, Reynolds and Hunt were never 100%.

Broncos used 27 players this year which is the second fewest behind Sharks on 25. It's a popular adage in league the club with the fewest players wins but you need luck with injuries and to be super fit. But once you get over 30, you're going to run out of legs. The teams down the bottom always use the most because they're not stable.

Depth and fitness improved dramatically my two biggest gripes for years. Getting the best out of players 25-36 is clubs biggest neglected area but the Broncos have nailed it this year.

I really love this cohort and 16/17 I have watched play Meninga, NYC, Colts, Allan Langer Trophy or Cup. They just clicked this year, and the staff were able to identify weakness and strengths and then work around that and bring out the strengths. They're a good fit for each other that peaked at the right time of year.

Peaked in the GF. ITs actually pretty rare to see! Nailed it.

Okay I’ve only read 9 pages here, haven’t been on since before the grand final.

This has meant so much to me, I was 5 years old in 2006 so don’t remember it,

2015 heart break I was 14 and broke our back door when Thurston kicked the field goal. Absolutely heartbroken.

2023 we were up in the GF thought there was no way we would lose I was crying in tears of happiness when Ezra went bang bang bang. Ripped my heart out that game and have never stopped thinking what could have been.

2025, this still doesn’t feel real man, when that hooter went I dropped to the floor in happy tears, this feels amazing man no one can ever take this happiness I’m feeling right now away from me.

Party on boys because we are the 2025 premiers, such a great feeling!!!

I genuinely think Melbourne beat any other side that night. I'ts not like they shit the bed, they played up.

I just read some of the comments. We have a huge tall poppy syndrome in Australia. Some of the comments are just disgusting. Society is ****ed. Some truly sick people out there.
The worst I've seen is on Tiktofk which, unfortunately, is fairly unregulated and a bit of a free for all.

These supposed "fans" are making videos speculating about his relationship status all because his daughter's mother accompanied her to to Sydney and comments that Walshy made in the presser about Madge carrying for the players and "our partners".

His daughter's mother is his partner in some capacity (romantic or not) until their daughter is grown. I'm assuming they thought that Lelia would get her own way to and from Sydney.

But there is no point in trying to argue common sense with crazy. They're infatuated with the idea of Reece that they have created in their head.

If there wasn't a young child involved, I probably wouldn't find it so unsettling (but still weird).

Hopefully, the club will continue with the same security measures that they have had in place this season regarding limiting public access to the players.

Yep well don’t LLB.

Best $1000 I have ever spent!!!

I got $1000 worth of value straight off the bat when it sunk in we won a comp before TurnCoates did!

Got another $1000 worth of value seeing Gorden CONEHEAD pretend he is a Broncos and realising he had to back track on his Madge agenda and cover his ass. Still couldn’t help but have to bring up Kev again though.

Also got at least another $1000 worth of value with the content the boys have been dropping all week.

I did the same bet for 2023 GF. Sadly Panthers were only paying $1.65 and the $650 profit didn’t easy any wounds at all.

The $41 live odds for Penrith when we were 24-8 up would have helped though. Too bad I was at the game that night and couldn’t ring in to put it on those odds live. Would have been easier to cry myself to sleep with $41,000 in my account. Actually from memory I didn’t even sleep that night I drove back to my accommodation to Newcastle grabbed my luggage and drove straight back to Brisbane through the night arriving home at around 8-9am.

That loss was part of the journey. This result makes up for it. Because no matter what happens from here on in, I don’t think we could top that finals run ever. Will go down as the craziest finals run of all time.

I look forward to the next chapter but I can dine on this result for many years to come. Can’t wait to go through it all again with you all.

interested to see whether getting the monkey off our back frees us up to go
to another level. But we should not ever fear any team ever again after what we pulled off under adversity. Let’s become that team that walks into top 4 most years and is always in contention.
