Anyone still smiling at the thought of the Ben Hunt redemption arc. This premiership righted so many wrongs of the past. No more than 2015 for hunty.

Haas, carrigan staggs all get a reward for being some of the most loyal legends to play for the Broncos. Literally could have signed at any other club but they dug in and returned us to greatness. What a story.

I thought Bellamy seemed a bit off for some reason this finals series. He spoke about how hard it was to get to a GF let alone win one during the week and just seemed so much more chilled than usual - there was none of the getting up, swearing and storming off to the back off the box - very strange.

Not sure if this has been posted somewhere but Hetherington's body was going through some shit in the back end of the season.

Assume that the club med & coaching staff were fully in the know about this and a calcuated (as in down to the 10th decimal place, so to speak) decision made. Would have been horrid if, say, a knee "blew" at a critical moment and Kobe misses a tackle that leads to the opposition scoring the match-winning try ... yikes ...

I'm still reading comments so apologies if this has been posted up, but does anyone know if any media company will be releasing a blu-ray of this grand final?
I still have my DVD copy of the 2006 copy and I am looking to add to my collection! :rofl

Seems he's been this way for a little while now ?

Was just thinking this today - would love some sort of digital copy of our three finals games.

Old age perhaps? It takes energy to be getting up, swearing and storming off in the coaches box.

Does anyone know when the end of season presso is? I would have assumed that it would be the end of this week sometime so that all formalities can be finalised and players can head off on their break - or into international camps for those that have been selected.

Walshy and Kotoni are my favourites for the Paul Morgan Medal.

I really hope reality sets in for Reynolds and he goes out a winner. Not only can his body just not handle it anymore, but he also completely stunts our attack. It's crazy to think, but we probably don't win the Grand Final if he doesn't pull up injured. We look infinitely better with Hunt at 7.

We will be so much better next year with Mam back in the team full time. Our second row should be much better than it was at the start of this year, with headgear Riki and Piakura finally starting to put it together, and players like Walsh and Mariner - for whom the game seems to have really 'clicked' should continue to play at a high level next year. Not to mention that we have still have young talent like Mozer and Te Kura (and Black?) who didn't contribute at all this year, and we will be second year under our head coach and with all the belief in the world. The pressure is finally off, we've broken every hoodoo we had and repeating couldn't be any more difficult than what we had to overcome this season (especially in the finals).

My hopes are really high moving forward and there's plenty of reasons to be optimistic.

Having said all that, rugby league is a funny game and things rarely go how you think they would. In 2023 (especially the grand final), Jesse Arthars looked like a world-class, game-changing winger who was destined for great things. Less than 2 seasons later he's not even in the run-on side.

Time will tell, but its a damn good time to be a Broncos fan.

Following the GF, Walsh 'hysteria' has exploded on social media - he's just hit 608k followers on Instagram - more than double that of any other player, Ponga and Clearly included. A footy player has had this level of 'celebrity' in a long time (if ever).

As such, I really hope that he takes precautions and protects his and his family's privacy as much as he can.

Unfortunately, I've since seen a lot of, mainly young female "fans" be highly disrespectful about his daughter's mother and lots of speculation about the nature of their relationship - all because she travelled with Reece and their daughter on the chartered flight back from Sydney. I would much rather an hour-long flight then a ten-hour drive with a four-year-old, or perhaps they thought that Leila was going to walk herself to Sydney to watch her dad.

Some of the comments about his personal life are highly intrusive and borderline obsessive. It's uncomfortable reading. I know that he loves sharing a lot about his life with his daughter on social media, but unfortunately it can come at a price which is a lack of anonymity and people forming weird parasocial relationships/attachments.

It's probably a good thing for him that the season is over (all be it his international commitments) so that he can escape the spotlight for a while.

Moral of the story: some people are weird.

Biggest problem will be climbing the hill again. Preseason will be much harder if you lose a bit of that desire. Penrith winning 4 in a row is amazing because of that alone.

Redemption for Ben and for our 2023 loss. We didn’t come out and smoke the storm. We had to fight for the win. With ten minutes to go it was still anyones game and we all had the feeling of a stitch up brewing. But the boys kept fighting
