The writing was on the wall when the Broncos signed Pezet.
The Broncos couldn't afford to get that decision on wrong and as it stands Pezet is a boon to their prospects.
Black has the tools to be an NRL level halfback and could very well go onto have a great career. The Raiders are a good landing spot for him and I think he'll relish the opportunity to play alongside a young up and coming team.
As far as his time at the Broncos, he seemed like a puppy with big paws. He had a great boot on him and had the odd moment of heads-up footy but it wasn't like he was the next Nathan Cleary. He wasn't even the best half of his age group coming through - that was Zane Harrison for the Titans.
I thought he played better when he went to the Magpies and played Cup but even then he was nowhere near ready for first grade. Coby has never been named in the extended squad and to be honest he's never deserved that opportunity.
He's still only 19 and he's worth a punt and I like the Raiders recruitment system but I don't think we've lost a Tom Dearden type player let me put it that way. Dearden was a clear stand-out who while extremely raw had the qualities of a champion and it was just bad timing.
Sorry just had to dry my eyes with my complimentary premiers napkin. When I was asked earlier where I'd rate Black in the grand scheme of things, I had him below a few players. Nio Verhoeven and Tupou Francis are the two prospects I see as potential stars. If they fail to materialise, I give you my blessing to bag me out
