FOOTBALL English Premier League 25/26 Discussion

And Mount finishes it off.

3-0.

Good shit. Happy that Cherki loses after his comments last year.

Edit: Questionable offside call...

That City defence, holy shit its bad with all their outs. The way they play a high line with that defence they are just begging to be countered.

2-0, 3 offsides netted (last one looked fine on the only replay they showed but whatever) 2 post hits, and a Donnarumma worldie. This should have been a win by far more than 2 goals.

I already dislike people getting carried away though. Cant be getting excited playing only on the counter when it doesnt work vs over half the league. Same way Ole ball failed many many times against teams we 'should' beat who play a low block.

Owen already claiming it's the best United have played in 10 years is just utterly ridiculous.

Anyways, happy for the derby win. You're welcome Arsenal.

Pep Ljinders as assistant. Not much else needs to be said

We're not United, FSG won't let the rot set in or tolerate this going into January window.

Ningnang is right the players want him gone and that much is obvious. I really don't think there's much else to it.

I expect him sacked imminently.
Still anticipating this after today?

Saw a stat before that Amorim was 7 wins in 17 league games, sacked. Maresca was 7 wins in 17 league games, sacked. Slot is now 5 wins from last 18 league games and still remains.

Seems very unlike FSG according to what you said above.

To my earlier point you dismissed about the form across the league, the fact Liverpool are still 4th with 5 wins from last 18, says just as much about the inconsistencies of the Europe contenders as it does Liverpool being ordinary too. Europe spots are wide open if anyone can streak some form.

Being 4th may be what's currently keeping him in a job. Sounded like he was booed again today though so maybe he won't be too much longer with Alonso jobless too.

The performance this morning was slightly better (emphasis on slightly), but the same old problems remain.

The tide is definitely turning in regards to support for Slot from the fans, fan media, etc.

Everyone referring to it as the world's shittest unbeaten run. 😂

I think there has been no rush to sack Slot, as there weren't really any good options available to come in right away and replace him. But, with the way things keep going, they might have to pull the trigger sooner than anticipated - especially now that Alonso is available. If we get knocked out of the Champions League, perhaps that'll be it.

I'd love to get Luis Enrique at the end of the season, but I reckon he's Citeh bound.

Enrique would be a great option for many teams.

I think Maresca is Citeh bound tbh, just with the way that all went down with his Chelsea exit, and him already talking to them.

I do think Peps on his way out though.

Glasner and Frank the next 2 manager to go. Both will be gone by monday i reckon.

Already seeing all over social media that Carrick is the "hero" we need to get back to the glory days and that he should be made permanent manager because "he gets United".

**** me dead 🙄... They completely ignore the fact that we had 30% possession and relied on counter-attacking football which might win you games here and there but over the course of 38 weeks will net you more losses than wins. It just doesn't ****ing work anymore.

Nothing is going to change until the higher ups change because they keep making the same damn mistakes over and over and over and over again.

I didn't think our owners were this incompetent. He should have been sacked weeks ago.

I don't really care who we replace him with at this point, it's pure negligence that he's still in a job. Give the interim role to the morning tea lady and it would be better than what we have now.

I have no interest in results-based analysis with this manager. The performances are not even of league one quality.

Not PL related but just seen the scenes in the final of the AFCON...

To try a Panenka at that stage. Insanity. Literally would have done anything else.

I'd bet good money City get Enrique. The timing of that seems to perfectly align with the rumours around Pep and Enrique's recent contract rejection.

Almost no chance they go for Maresca. The City fans wouldn't accept that for a second. The rumours to City were just his agent trying to create the illusion that he's in high demand.

Only thing I can think of with us at the moment is Alonso doesn't want the job. It makes no sense why we're sticking with this manager through the transfer window unless we can't get the replacement we want.

Maybe it was that, but he was literally already in a well-paying job and ended up leaving without a payout. The breakdown with Chelsea board must have been monumental to just walk away with nothing lined up at all. The whole thing was just odd. It wasn't just crap sources reporting it either.

I would be happy if he went to City as I don't get all the hype. I'd definitely agree Enrique seems more the type for them.

So won't be another year until there's a decision made on the Man City charges, but we all know that decision isn't going to be made.

It will be dragged on long enough until fans get sick of it and don't care anymore and then it'll be swept under the rug, maybe City will have to pay some kind of penalty but won't get points deducted or titles stripped and definitely won't get relegated to the Championship.

With the money they spent last Jan, last summer and then this Jan again, I dont think City have ever been worried.

They can also pay the top lawyers whatever they want to drag it out as long as they can.

They arent going to relegate them, and if youve bought a whole new squad in the 12mths prior to a transfer ban who really cares if they went that route instead. But im sure the premier league will just be happy to line their pockets with some of that dirty money and call it a day to be done with it.
