CRICKET Queensland Bulls 25/26

Great bowling effort from the four quicks.

Neser the same as always - what a cricketer. Straker swinging the ball both ways and Jem Ryan on debut was fantastic. Kerr bowled very well too.

The MCG gives plenty of assistance to the bowlers but gee the batting is so poor. Sad how little clue on defense our current batters have in this country,.

Common theme across the 3 Shield games yesterday. 17, 15 and 14 wickets falling. Coming straight off BBL wouldnt have helped the batters, but it seems the bowlers had no issue getting back into red ball mode.

53 wickets having now fallen across the last three days of first-class cricket- yesterday had 3mm less grass than the Test too.

Vic 8/111

This is going to end pretty even first innings. 20 or 30 runs lead could have the value of 100.

Very costly dropping Handscombe on 44 by Pierson off Straker. Looked regulation and no need for a dive.

Lead by 5 - C'mon Bulls. Hope the batters can knuckle down and the pitch flattens out and we can build a nice lead!!!

Intersting listening to the commentators on the Bulls /Vics game on the issue. They said the media is reporting the 17 wickets on day 1 of this game as being due to a bad pitch, but the 15 and 14 wickets at the other two Shield games as being due to outstanding bowling. Did the bowlers in this game just get lucky?

The pitch looked pretty good today - not as much sideways movement off the pitch from the quicks however still a bit through the air. Hopefully this trend continues when we bat

I wonder what people want - a pitch that has no sideways movement day 1 that is an absolute belter for 3 days and then turns on Day 4?

178 run lead on day two. You shouldn’t lose from here.

Cpl of things .
Neser had 3 / 1 at one stage . O Neil 4 / 43 . He is a prospect .

We’re been talking about O’Neill in cricket chats for like two years now as a prospect but the reality is, his stats don’t really matter because he bowls too slow for Australian selectors tastes so he is unlikely to ever get much of a go if at all.

Woops !
I agree there , he has skills .
But is short stature and not quick enough .

It was Elliot with the 4 fer who I meant to give the wrap . .
He is a prospect . Tall and fast , more like the archetype .

He's Matt's son. Elliot, Perry and O'Neill are the reason Victoria are where they are on the table.

Straker first two.

Vic 2/20.

Handscomb is the massive wicket.

Straker gets Kellaway- he was too bogged down.

3/37
