What's the halves pairing for Souths shaping up like for 2027?

Jye Gray is good but not a top tier FB yet.

Little bit of salt here but I'd be placing a small wager on seeing Haas inside the boxing ring at some point in the next 5 years.
I'm struggling to think of a worse spine. Even the Bears have a better spine with Meaney, Wishart, and Sexton imo. They can put Latrell there to make it look better on paper, but he can't physically cope with a high work rate position.

Yep It's arguably a bottom 4 spine - Even Knights and tits spines are far better. And now souffs can apparently win a comp lol. Only ones worse are possibly the dargs and dogs.

Their spine isn't that bad, it's just the fact they don't have a 6 or a 7 lined up. They'll have to shuffle the deck a bit and that's only if Jye Gray proves he wasn't just a one season wonder.

Fullback and hooker, those roles look like they'll be filled by pretty good players. They will absolutely need a halfback though.

I think there's still a question mark on BSmith at hooker.

He was getting panned on the regular at rorters for his dummy half play.

Feels like he's more of a stocky lock that you can get 30-40mins of hooker out of.

Will be interesting to see how he plays this year

I feel for him, I reckon he's nothing more than a bench utility, an incredibly good one but nothing too much more. You can't play him at lock and Roosters paid up for him at Hooker and it didn't work out. He brings great energy off the bench, can change the game.

Souffs managed to get Garlick from Melbourne, he might go okay. Their halfback situation though, they're up shit creek without a paddle.

Haas has left for legitimate reasons. If it was about money he'd have started a bidding war among Sydney clubs. Post football at the Broncos he could also likely earn more money than at Souths. The idea he left because of clauses is ridiculous. Brisbane were willing to do a 1 year deal. He doesn't need the safety of a 3 year deal. Even if he did his ACL next year, he'd still attract top value in the market. You can speculate on what the clauses mean, but they aren't the reason he left the Broncos. We will never know how he feels about Madge. All we can say is that he didn't enjoy playing under Madge enough that he wanted to stay. Again he's entitled to play under another coach he's close to. The media is desperate to uncover some kind of hidden motive or secret plot. Maybe there is one, but there doesn't need to be one to explain what's happened.

I can't remember which podcast it was but it suggested that Sydney having a much bigger muslim community could be a drawcard for Payne and his family. That could be a reason that isn't money related that makes sense. I still think regardless not having so much money tied up in a prop probably helps our ability to keep the main squad together. It sucks but hey we can't keep them all but this will help keep the guns we do have. Plus Haas will rip in this year. He isn't the sort of guy to play badly because he is looking at next year. I think it would be funny if the Rabbitohs miss the 8 in his first year though!

Pretty sure that was the levels podcast with Horo and Mason

I am pretty sure I have heard every reason under the sun as to why he's leaving and I am almost certain none of them have any substance.

They said we low-balled him, manager came out and categorically denied it. As a Bronco fan that's the only thing I care about, we didn't disrespect him with our offer.
