POST GAME Trial - Brisbane Broncos v Souths Logan Magpies

Might do but I feel strongly against moving Patty from lock. We saw that fail already.

Francis looks like a great future bench impact middle
We put Patty back to lock because Hethrington wasn't up for the job needed. Patty is an international prop and thats his best position imo.

Maybe I am high on the premiership afterglow, but geez it feels like we are in a good position with the youngsters coming through.

It is great to hear about these kids coming through and then to actually see them play was fantastic.

I also got a touch of pride in the club of having someone like Hoeter out there. You hear so much about this ressie player who is a fantastic club man. It makes me feel like the club culture is strong.

Looked like good signs from Beni Allen. What should he be aiming to do this year @1910? How long is he signed with us?

27 he's with Brisbane signed June last year, like a lot of young Broncos it's time to play 20 games of good Cup. He will be 21 in June.

Allen has played eight games in two years all of those eight games have been benched and 10 minutes of games, he's never forced Head's hand. He really hasn't had a full year since 23 when he played Meninga and Colts.

Need to see more than dynamic kick returns too, that's a small part of your job.

I remember watching a game with Allen last year thinking wow this kid looks huge and moves well and just dropped like a sack of potatoes on the few runs he made and missed like 5 tackles before being hooked. It was disappointing.

I'd say the talent is obvious but there must be questions on work ethic. Not sure he'll make it but hope I'm proven wrong obviously.

He's looked pretty fit in the two trials and I think that was always an issue for him.

Another one where 2026 is a big proving year for them... NRL meta is all about fitness and mobility.

He looks like he has the mobility at his size

Yep the fitness improvement was very pleasing to see.

He's always been rock hard and a specimen, he was just lazy. He was happy with one kick off run and sending guys scattering and sit back then job done.

What was really impressive in Meninga doesn't cut it in Cup.

He's only averaging 19 minutes a game in Cup. It started to climb a bit last year but went back down, two weeks in a row he played 33 and 30 minutes and seemed like a bit of turning point- next two weeks 10 and 11 and then he went home to NZ and then got injured when he did front to play. I thought last year against Souths him and Bukowski showed signs of a really good combo like Mozer and Te Kura have worked on but it never eventuated.

There was a point where he's on the bench for BRL last year.
