Will be interesting to see. The only thing is that this move could be one that he would want to probably be more permanent (and not move again) due to his sick child so unsure if Brisbane is the move he’ll end up with. But I’m sure the club will give it a crack and see what happens…

I get that, but he is the Warriors skipper, played origin when he was most recently fit and has a pretty decent stature in the game currently as a top line prop. He would not struggle to get a deal in NSW AT ALL, so the very fact he included QLD to me suggests that's where his desire is to be, and recent reports enquiring about the prospect of joining the club suggests as such.

Look I think Willison is to raw to do it all on his own. It's to soon to expect Francis to pick up a load and BTK and Semu are yet to prove they are worthy of nrl spots let alone contribute. The notion that we can win a premiership and solve this problem internally in the shorter term is ridiculous. Barnett on a 2 year deal at his age, you get some good value, Willison is your spearhead front rower, Carrigan stays at lock and we get a couple years to get Francis to a standard where he can start. At 34-35 Barnett can either retire or move down the pecking order. Carrigan will be 30 and ready to go to 40-50 minute prop role and Francis can play lock.

I think Barnett is the perfect option. Hearing Loko from the dragons is unhappy with opportunities as well so wouldn't mind our hands on him. Leaves 800+ at least to retain the Shiba's and the Mozers and Buk's of the squad as well as an impending cap rise.

I think considering it won't be 2028 till we can get our hands on a quality prop, he is the perfect candidate.

Pretty clear that he wants to join us, but also wants a big salary. Hopefully we get him at the right price, and don’t pay overs.
 
Would love him at the club, but he's getting on in age and no doubt a desparate Sydney club will get the cheque book out for him.

Ideally we'd get Barnett on a 2 year deal from '27 (front loaded), then Flegler in '28
 
Honestly we have that much salary cap sitting around next year that I'd be completely fine to overpay the shit out of him front loaded next year to get him. Absolutely nobody on the market you'd really be after. Absolutely nobody on the market to spend any sort of cash on either, nobody up for a big upgrade next year... As long as come 28 he is on a healthy reasonable salary, I'd overspend a lot to get him for next. We are in a premiership window. Carrigan and Willison don't quite cut it when your second row is nothing special I'm afraid. Barnett is a big MUST to get here.
 
Depending on what his child's medical issue is, Barnett's decision might come down to what hospital or facility they need to be close to. Maybe it'll just narrow his options (e.g. no Perth, no Newcastle, no Canberra). Either way his manager is doing the right thing by talking up all the interest. Don't want to say 'we'll be going where we have to' to the open market.
 
Is he any good? I've never really paid much attention to him so I have no idea what type of player/playstyle he has. I know wahs fans love him though.

Yes he is. He isn't Haas but who is? He'll also be on the bubble of when a player can fall off a cliff too though. If the price is right, he'd be a very good pick up. He is an international and SOO rep for a reason but he's also coming back from an ACL.

So if he wants 900k+, I'd say absolutely no. If he wants 600-800k, then yes.

But here has family in taree but yeah never know might want to play for us in 27
 
Warriors want a player swap.

Not willing to give up a player on top of paying him, especially since I have no doubt they would demand someone like X.
 
Who is that guy who smokes massive blunts? Does he go alright? Get him on the cheap.
