PLAYER Adam Reynolds

He's one of our best players. Guy just came back from injury. Give him a chance ffs. Earlier in the year, BHQ was saying Cobbo was a better fullback than Reece Walsh.

We need to quit with the overreactions to bad form.
Did he manage any games well in 2025? Any 80min performances?

He had an elite opening 40mins when we destroyed the Bulldogs. This was the only game he looked good, and it was for 40mins. Most of the year he was either a passenger, or a handbrake.

He was ass this year, although in saying that i went back and watched some highlights from our opening like 10 games this year, and he had a lot more quality involvements than i thought

Feel like he was probably pretty dominant in that cows, dolphins and tigers stretch... also guessing he was pretty good in the rorters round 1 when we put 50 on them.

Can recall it was the kicking between Reyno and Bhunt that completely removed Teddy from the contest.

Also absolute masterclass vs Souths

At the time the back three were getting monstered .
Reece was surrendering on kick returns and making a half dozen mistakes a game .
The game Selwyn played in the wet in his 1st game as fullback was outstanding and remedied a lot of the problems Reece was creating .

yeah this was the game where I was like lets go cobbo... but he never tried again after that...

Nothin like a good ole generalisation to sum things up .

Nah ,,, the opposition worked him out .
Make him chase grubbers and made him run all over the field to tire him out .

You need a special physique and aerobic fitness to play full back . Training to play centre / wing won`t prepare you .

The game when he stood out was in the wet . So his run it straight metality was right for that . On a dry track it was a different game .

The game where he tore his hammy he was certainly trying . He did the Tommy Dearden - ran the length from the the opposite side of the field to make a cover tackle and save a try .

IF Adam decides to play on next year, it should be mandated that he WILL NOT play against the cheat grubs & 100% not going to that dreaded shithole, AAMI park.

Yeah, he should be banned from even flying to Melbourne. Knowing our luck, even if he's rested, he'll fall down the stairs outside the coaches box or something lol

I continue to be unimpressed by Reynolds.

Every game he plays he is a serious risk of injury, which impacts our chances of winning said game.

He was known for being one of the best kicking halves in the comp. Currently he seems to struggle to kick even 30m (maybe his body is affecting his abilities here). He often gives away 7 tackle sets. Admittedly his short kicking game is still fairly good.

His decision making is questionable at times and he is definitely not known for his defence given his size and age.

I would argue we were at our peak last season when Billy, Hunt and Walsh were calling the shots. We don't seem to lack much when Reynolds is not playing which really makes me question his impact.

Not sure we can rely on Ezra either. I see him as a very inconsistent player and fail to see much improvement in his game.

I think we will forced to run with many different combinations again this year.

To Reynolds credit, his defence is actually pretty good. Makes good contact for his size. He put some of the panthers forwards on their arses last night.

Watching some replays I've had a thought. Is Reynolds the best half at getting intercepts? He seems to pull it off pretty often, especially in tight to the opposing half

Yea he's quite good at reading attacking plays. Besides the intercepts, he seems to time the whole "run out of the line" thing well too.

He's a very good defensive half often around 90% for tackle efficiency... I wish he would teach some of those smarts to Ezra.

Ezra is physical, but start throwing bodies at him and he can get very lost.

Staggs not much better when it comes to defence.

Both of them ran out of the line against penrith... didn't make the tackle and conceded tries.

Our defence was far better last year when Staggs in particular just stayed on his ****ing edge and slid
