OFFICIAL Mitch Barnett signs two-year deal with Broncos

I doubt they are getting one of our finest, Barnett was leaving regardless, player or no player.

We will out of good faith probably send them a decent player though.
 
Good get as a payne replacement if he gets over his knee. How the **** would he fit in the salary cap for this year if he was to come over? Thats the part I dont understand.

The reporting says 2 years with an option for a 3rd I gather in his favour.

We lost a few players and the players we got for 26 weren't really big namers.

Anderson, Duffy and Tawha?

Cobbo was probably on more than all 3 combined.

I can see a world where we have a bit there.
 
Hopefully it’s 2yrs with Brisbane option for a 3rd, as reported over the last few days.
I think parra made us pay a bit more and possibly include that 3rd year.
We need leadership, so hopefully a good get.

Yeah but 600-700k spare for this year in your salary cap? That seems like alot just spare laying around.
 
I don't think it's baffling, if you want the guy, you've got to give him incentive. No rep forward at the age of 31 is taking a 1 year deal. ACL? Yeah, that's a thing. They come back from them though, we're not asking him to jump around and catch bombs.

To be fair to the reporters I havent seen anywhere any of them have said it will be this year at all. Only seen 2027 onwards. Who ****ing knows though because I aint paying for a subscription to them ****ers to read the whole thing.

Then I wouldnt understand why the Warriors can get compensation unless he had a contract through next year. I gather that is what it is?

This contract shit needs to be fixed. I don't understand why they can't just have a free agency period like every other damn sport. Would fix alot of this.
 
I did see the term "hottest free agent", why are we sending them anyone again?
