We still could have won it near the end after that breakaway but instead of passing to the other side where we had plenty of numbers Mam tries to grubber it through...

Not sure that would have been a good outcome though. Would have masked a really poor defensive effort.

Eels definitely aren't as bad as the Storm made them look. Doesn't make the loss any better though.

If you try and look at it pragmatically, we did pretty well to almost pinch it.

We had plenty of chances that will stick as we warm into the season, they just aren’t right now.

That said, Parra were good, very few errors for this time in the season. They had every bounce of the ball except one go their way and some to the flukiest tries you can get. Most teams would be lucky to get one of these a year and they got about four of them.

We could t buy a penalty or six again for three quarters of the game and dropped it left, right and centre due to the associated fatigue of being smashed by the ref.
It was a horrible game but that’s modern league - terrible game after terrible game which makes it hardly watchable when your own team is playing and completely unwatchable if they aren’t.

Which one
Any Amazon FS. Not the latest model. Then pay for the IPTV line.

Nations Streams is rock solid, the NS+ is a sports fans dream. I found them on iptvtrust.net

2021 footy is back baby!!!!

I think the issue atm is the opposite of what the media is going on about… we look like we’re severely underdone and haven’t had a preseason. We’ll click at some point, but it better be soon or we’ll be unable to make the four and therefore will be out of contention (like penref last year)

**** me have you seen how many easy marks get put down every week in AFL

They can get away with far more in AFL than what you can in the NRL.

They can bump the player to stop them getting a clean mark, can't do that in the NRL so working with the AFL players to get the technique down pat would be very useful.

Works for Melbourne.

What about that D.... jesus christ that was tough to watch.

+1 to the 6-agains hate.

I've HATED that rule since day 1. Way too many penalties... such a shame.

This new "no one hander bat back" rule... is... wow... got no words for it.

I've said this before... I don't really support "rugby league" , I just love and support the Brisbane Broncos.

The sport itself has been tarnished, I hate the PVL-era.

I am still trying to figure out what Talty got penalised for. The ref signaled holding the player down, but the eels guy was playing it when he blew it, Talty didn't seem to do anymore than any other tackle.
Of course, the penalty got them into our 50, which tonight meant try to the eels.

Trying to find positives.
Panthers at Suncorp, Eels at Suncorp, Storm in Melbourne.
We lost them all last year, we’re just getting them out of the way early this year.
I can get on board with this. Are we going to go 0-9 to get all our losses out of the way early too? I'd love to see a 15+ game winning streak.

Our bench let us down this game. I am not reading too much into these first few games, Madge did the same thing last year where he seemingly front loaded the team with hard training and eased off as the season progressed.

Also I am getting off the Aublix hype train at the next station.

Good luck trying to figure out what the set restart was for in the build up to the Ryley Smith try.

NRL.com has pinned it on Willison. The problem was, Willison wasn't even involved in the tackle when the penalty was given - it was Reynolds and Haas. No clue if there was anything untoward because Channel 9/FOX/Kayo had to give us a close-up of Madge.

A massive call in the context of the game and we just have to accept it.

I knew as soon as Addo-Carr tried to get a quick play the ball despite being driven back that the ref would pull something out. Sure enough, play 4 set restart and the players are barely holding on.

This might be a hot take but I’d bring Preston Riki off the bench looked solid in the rials and in q cup

Walsh’s bullshit heroics last year really papered over some glaring cracks in this team
Seems to be not much resiliency this year so far to defend the try line
Shibasaki looks like he has taken 4 steps back compared to last year
He was atrocious tonight
Doesn’t get any easier next week either
Completely agree re Shibasaki, he looks like a guy that is comfortable in his position now, not trying to prove he belongs like last year.

There are a few guys in that bracket I feel

Riki
Mariner
Hunt
Reynolds
Mam

All of those guys struggling for form IMO, throw Shibasaki in there its almost half a team playing poorly.

Is it just me or has Reynolds lost huge distance when kicking? You look at Moses last night and his kicks were deep and long, Reynolds lucky to get to their 20.
