Perspective I guess. Ballin could get upset if he took that as Teo is indispensable but he isn't.

Ballin was already on qld staff when Madge got here, it’s not the same thing.

Origin staff is year to year bar the head coach, Madge could have said no to Ballin doing it in 2025 when he got the coaching job in 24.

Ballin was still already in the role and would be under no threat of losing it the following year, he has also been an assistant since what, 21? Te’o was one year into his first nrl job with a head coach in his second year at the club. He knew how ballin would deal with it because he’s already done it.
 
Not sure of ballins role exactly but defence has been underperformed since teo has taken over. Our fitness, attack and determination won us the prem last year despite our defence, not becuase of it.

If a team member is not performing their role well and asks to be released to make more money whilst still getting paid to do the role they are in, what idiot boss is saying yes to that? Do your job well and get rewarded. Our defence has been woeful this year, and wasnt great last year. Titans can have him lol hope they get him for round 5!
 
Teo has gotten the leaving Broncos tax applied by the media. For a premiership winning team our defence bad and something that every one in the media addressed over the off-season as we need to fix it if we want to go back to back. Now that Teo has left all of a sudden he’s the minister of defence and one of the sharpest minds in the game lol.

All fair points. But he was head coach of Redcliffe’s U/21s and took them to back-to-back grand finals. Then in first season as assistant coach Broncos win a premiership. That’s a pretty handy resume.

It was a defensive red flag I raised but no one agreed with me until today. Now everyone said it.
 
As much as I like Ben - a lot of the criticism is justified. If he's pissed because Madge took the reigns for the Storm game or something to that effect, then he'd look like a bit of a goose because that was the best defensive effort we'd put together for the season. (if that's what happen, I have no idea but the shoe fits)

I have zero doubt in my mind that Madge is probably a tough old bastard to work for, that being said - if you want success, sometimes you can't spare the rod. They were definitely spoiled children when he arrived. Knocking off early to beat traffic home etc.
 
So will a new assistant coach be coming in or will ballin and barrett split the attack and defence amongst them now?

Is there a potential defensive specialist that would be a good pick up.

Madge and teo had run ins when madge was coaching him in souths. I think their personalities are a little bit like chalk and cheese. Surprised it didnt blow up sooner (in the form slump last year).
