Reports that Flanagan is preparing to parachute his son Kyle into the 7 jersey against Manly on Friday night ... Daniel Atkinson to be the one dropped

Atkinson was terrible tbf, but yeah bringing Flanno Jr back is definitely not resolving anything

Just seeing those last 2 high shot penalties again.

If its a tied game last 5/10 mins and you get a red zone set, why would you not just tell your forwards to fall into contact and make sure they get slapped high? Considering both players stayed on today and no HIAs, it doesn't even need to be forwards really. Just send your smallest bloke in and tell him to fall before the D line...any touch or slap on the head you should be getting a match winning penalty

He's a genuine first grade half now

Props to him always thought his ceiling was a backup half and nothing more
I always thought he had it in him but just couldn’t get a decent run with us. Always came in at the worst times with injuries, team not going well or against Penrith.

In light of the Twidle and Verhoeven debuts, I have to say I'm liking the 19 man interchange. Instead of forcing teams to select players out of position, it made for a better contest and in the case of Twidle created a nice talking point.

I still think the rule ought to be tweaked to allow teams to use the entire six man bench but it's a step in the right direction.

On the Eels/Tigers sometimes the game over-complicates situations. The only reason Moses was able to challenge the head high tackle was because it was a head high tackle. The thing is, and it's something you've pointed out @BroncsFan is that head highs didn't fall under the captain's challenge umbrella. It only happened because the NRL turned a blind eye to their own rules and made it up on the go. Point being, unless it's a reportable offence it shouldn't be a penalty.

It evened out in the end but even the way that happened was stupid. If the tackle by Da Silva is deemed a penalty then there's about to be 10 more penalties a game.

Happy enough for the Tigers but the better ending would have been Moses nailing the field goal. Fair enough penalty, Walker was a mile off-side but the ending felt like a major anti-climax.

It's saved broncos twice already this year.

Shiba in round 4 when Anderson went down and last week when Reece went down.

If we don't have outside backs available on the 6 man bench both those games are potential losses as Piaks or Riki are moving out, Willison/Jhunt into second row and the middle rotation is messed up (no Haas in round 4) as well as having a weakness at centre and maybe even backrow pending views on X when he's shifted out there.

Could've been staring down the barrel of a 1-4 start if the 6 man bench didn't exist
