POST GAME [Round 6, 2026] - Broncos vs Cowboys

The thing is though, the NRL have doubled down, and said only the Drinky and Toia ones were wrong, and Shiba was a right call as he had no intention of making a catch?

Now are they just covering their ass because that was a result definer in terms of points?

Or are we looking at something completely different?
Well the Drinkwater one isn't a disruptor, because it's illegal contact lol... it's still a penalty, but under a different name... it's just either the moron in the bunker said 'disruptor' or bigger moron Brandy just started calling it 'disruptor' but doesn't even know what one is.

Toia they're likely just saying to appease Robbo and optics ... NRL is all just damage control and optics.

Sydney don't think that one is a disruptor... "ok cool whatever you say guys... you guys are great we'll get it right next time"... and then proceed to keep getting them wrong and agreeing with media every time they **** up ("sorry guys we did it again") or just order their refs to stop calling disruptor penalties under the guise that "hey look all the teams are perfect now", but knowing the media will stop interrogating disruptor penalties if the game doesn't stop to show them.

This is what happened to disruptor penalties when it disappeared the first time... it's only back this time around because the rules committee decided to throw a black and white criteria at it.

Could be a sliding doors moment. Would have played the game out with Paix unable to return. Could have started next week and then had a good stint off the bench. Now CB could jump him in the pecking order with a possible start this week and a run at 14.
Thats all well and good

if CB is the one.......

Kemp is such a little bitch, it’s so weird. Listened to Bloke in a bar to expecting to hear him simp again like he did when talking to Chad about the Shiba call yet Guru led out with saying that it was ridiculous and that should have been a try and cost The Broncos the game and Kemp is like yep absolutely! ****ing ridiculous, have a spine one way or the other. You can’t be cowering to Chad of all people saying that absolutely was the right call and then 2 days later agreeing that it was a terrible call and cost us the game.

He has no opinion of his own, bizarre to have a podcast when you will just agree with whatever your guests say.

Excited to see his work around the ruck .
I expect him to run anytime there is only one marker .But unlike Billy he does seem to find support in that situation .
His pass is very good also .

Graham Annesley circa 2019:
-----
“Last year there was an attempt to referee each game in a very similar manner regardless of what happened on the field.

“The philosophy I want them to take into the 2019 season is that not every game is the same. Sometimes that requires a different approach."

Annesley said there would be no radical change in interpretations but wanted his referees to develop a feel for the game and penalise — or put the whistle in their back pocket — accordingly.
------

Worried me then and we're seeing the fruits of it now. "Feel for the game" was always going to be a recipe for inconsistency.

Everyone wants clarity and consistency. If the same infringement isn’t ruled the same way week to week (let alone game to game), all we have is confusion and diminishing confidence in the system.

What I saw of him on SEN he was saying he didn't like either call. 🤷‍♂️

Oh maybe I’m wrong then, I don’t listen to anything Chad Townsend does so was going by what someone on here said that he had agreed with Chad that the Shiba one was a penalty.
