POST GAME [Round 8, 2026] - Broncos vs Bulldogs

“‘I’m hearing rumblings that Talty is unhappy with the assistant coaches at the Broncos” - CONEHEAD probably
I'm hearing rumbles from Hayze Perham, Thomas Duffy, Antonio Verhoeven Preston Riki, Va'a Semu and Josh Rogers over the last 3 games that they are unhappy getting opportunities in first grade and blaming Madge for it. From the rampaging dope.

At the game Piakura was in noticeable discomfort for pretty much the whole half. Id be amazed if he was 80% before the game even started with his limp and how much tape he had on the knee, and it just seemed to bother him more and more til he went off.

He will be yet another big loss as I think his work in tightening the left goes largely unnoticed.

Reyno really wound back the clock on last night's clinic. It is a joy to watch a 7 just go out there and work like that. Big love for the skip.

Such a good win.
I think Ezra feels far more comfortable with Piaks inside him.

He definitely wants a faster backrower inside him because he had zero trust in any of Gos or Aublix.

I don't recall any shocking efforts when Jhunt was inside him last night, but they did start looking a bit loose when there was shape out to Crichton

Just watched a replay as I missed it live. That's a great win. How fit do we look. Everyone just doing their job. And the leaders have stepped up big time.

Who is looking after the defence now? Did I read somewhere it is Madge? Our defence has been outstanding since Teo moved on.

Besides us fans, you don’t see Riki getting recognised a lot for his hard work that he’s been putting in this season. I was happy to see Fox Sports recognise him last night and talked about how consistent and strong his stats have been. Anasta said he’s been the most consistent player in NRL this season. Who would’ve thought that he would be become one of the strongest leaders in our team. He’s really stepped up this year. That headgear can never come off!
I bet mrs Riki makes him leave it on in the bedroom.

Amazing win. We are witnessing the maturing of our squad and the catalyst has been injury to star players.
X has owned the mid field and led the pack. Mams pass selection and decision making has come on .
Paix has stepped up with pressure from the young guns. Even added a little deception at the ruck.
There is confidence in each other.

We have a Dogs guy on our tour who was giving it to me all day.
Just going down to breakfast. I won't say anything but will be wearing Mr Broncos shirt.

I think the Dogs have big problems internally. They dont look happy to me.
A couple more losses could just make it bubble over. There seems to be a bit of finger pointing.
My opinion only though but watch this space.

Please tell me you walked in doing the Telstra walk and whistleing the tune?

It's the same knee Piakura had done in the pre-season. He is having scans today, but I don't think it's going to be good. He was out for 8 weeks in January and same problem.
Is it a PCL issue?

I think that's the one players can play through... Reece had one last year and several players have played without a PCL (I think Andrew Fifita??).

Fletcher Sharpe copped a PCL injury in Vegas Rd 1

I think it's pain tolerance, so maybe it was bugging him last night, but hopefully not too long

Gould and Ciraldo only just signed new deals til 31' as well. There's plenty of dogs fans well off of Ciraldo by the sounds of it.

I have no idea what's going on at Canterbury but it looks like Gus and Ciraldo are butting heads.

Gus has an ego, we all know that. He knows who he thinks should be at the club and what position they should be in, Ciraldo has to try and make it work. It hasn't worked. They were airborne until Galvin arrived.

They are definitely on different wave lengths. They also need to start to concede that maybe if Gus is starting to be the problem. I have always found Gus wants to be the Jack of all trades and be able to do it all. I’ll never forget when he sat in the coaching box with Barrett. Then ofcourse you have him commentating and giving his opinion on other club but then gets upset if someone talks about his club. It’s ridiculous.
