Faux saying the Roosters game is shaping up to be one of the matches of the year.

Seriously??

With the amount of players we have out it's shaping up to be more like one of the mis-matches of the year.

Having said that I still think our boys are a chance provided they manage to dodge the obligatory 3 or 4 six agains in a row to start the game.

So at the minute:

Walsh (this week?)
Carrigan (this week)
Tawha (Next week)
P Riki (Next week)
Hunt (Rd 11 - Rd 13)
Te Kura (Rd 12)
Mozer (Rd 13)
Haas (Rd 14)
Hoeter (Rd 15)
Anderson (Rd 16)

Arthars (tbc)
Piakura (tbc)
Verhoeven (tbc)
Bukowski (tbc)

Walters (indefinite)
Jensen (indefinite)

1. Walsh
2. Mariner
3. Staggs
4. Shibasaki
5. Karapani
6. Mam
7. Reynolds
8. Willison
9. Paix
10. Talty
11. Gosiewski
12. Riki
13. Carrigan
14. Rogers
15. J. Hunt
16. Semu
17. Coric
18. Arthars (/Coates)
19. Duffy

Gos aside, the 13 is strong. Rogers has been strong, Arthars and Duffy are our 1st choice 18 and 19 anyway. just the middle/edge rotation. Shibasaki and Bryce may come into calculations but I think Coric has been in great form and that bit more experienced at cup level to make the jump then the other 2 would do and they would also be on an edge whilst he'd be in the middle. J Hunt can cover edge minutes under this scenario as I doubt Gos would go 80 and Semu and Coric can cover the minutes through the middle that would need to be covered.
Poor Braithen Scott and his ACL always get forgotten about. I'm not sure Horne is fit either so we're bruised and battered all the way down. These guys haven't played cup yet but still on our dev list.

Jamal Shibasaki no, no, no, no, no.
It'll have to be Coric on form he's been sensational, Teague & Gale are the next men up but then it's daylight between them and the likes of Bryce & Allen (who probably should be higher up the pecking order but Wynnum are stuffing him around)

Seriously??
They tried with Dogs and we trashed them so, they’re trying again this week with Rotters game.

Unlike Dogs game, we play Rotters on Saturday so, Fox and Yvonne especially, have all the agenda to spin however they want. To add to the nightmare, she’ll have the likes of Cronk, JWH & Keary(?) as her panel so whoever planning to watch the pre &/ post game show, my condolences.

I thought the exact same thing against the dogs, that even if we hold our own with the starters, we'll be torn apart when our benchies come on. It was only after Priki & Semu had been on for a while that I realised that these were our replacements, and we weren't wilting. Completing 40 of 43 sets will do that, of course. So we'll need to keep that up this week if we are a chance.

Roosters will be a different level of opposition to the Dogs though. If there is one side you wanted to come up against when undersized, its Canterbury. Easts are different, they have a decent sized pack, this will be a more difficult assignment and especially because we have now lost a second rower which we could ill afford.

Chooks were bad for 40 mins vs Knights, and very good for 40 mins.
Then they still conceded 16 to the worst team in the comp.

Don't think they are at a point yet where they are playing full 80mins, so we'll have some chances. We just need to complete high again.

Te Kura ?
I highly doubt we will ever see him in Broncos colours again .

Did I say he was? At current he is contracted and on personal leave until then. I didn't realise all 16 players I named there were in our main 17 rotation. At the minute his leave is personal leave and he will be treated as such until it otherwise changes.

Aggressive forward pack too.

Whyte, Collins, Leniu, Radley are all hard runners and in your face. Need to hold our own or could get messy.

I'd be tempted to leave Talty and Gos as starting front row and have Xman replace Piakura on the edge.

Mainly defensively, I think Gos is much better defending in the middle

Did you say whaaa ?

Te Kura (Rd 12)

My reply to that was I doubt we see him in Broncos colours ever again .

My reasoning - He will be training for NFL and trying to gain weight as muscle mass . And anaerobic fitness .
More muscles require more oxygen to fuel them . Leading to more and quicker fatigue .
The way the game is evolving this season a man with a physique like his will struggle with the aerobic fitness to be able to compete . Even more so if he dedicates his training to winning a NFL contract .

So if he can see him, his eye socket has recovered enough to play?
