POST GAME [Round 10, 2026] - Broncos vs Sea Eagles

I questioned Gos at prop, and X at 2nd row a couple weeks ago...

Big test for Madges coaching abilities next week with our go forward, and how he addresses it.

Our backs are being asked too much of. If we can't go forward with power, we need to look at our spines involvement in assisting that; forwards looking to offload, speed that we the ruck, short passes. The hit out in the middle is killing us; butter knife to a gun fight.

Big test for Madge in finding a way get territory.

The answer is Reyno kicking long. He's gotta find turf any way he can and turn the backs around, and the chase has to be ON.

I’m kinda terrified about not having haas next year…feels like we need to win again this year while we have him.

Our backrow depth is horrendous “we’ve all said it” but I’d also like to say Ezra has genuinely gotten worse gradually after signing his deal. He needs a proper rinsing from someone better than him that has standing. In saying that, he’s not the guy to make things happen when we aren’t rolling forward but he’s getting paid like he is.

It always comes back to the contracts…. If he was on 600 and not 900 than it would be fine because WE COULD AFFORD HAAS!!!!!! But if you want to get paid the big bucks but can’t make things happen when things aren’t going your way….at least defend well..oh yeah, you can’t.

I feel like people are forgetting Haas isn’t moving just for money
he said it was for bennett, but is it really - statistically bennett is more likely to be dead than still there when his contract is up. Or is it that the rabbits let him put in an exit clause for R360 that we flatly refused, ergo, money.....

And so he should after that effort, I believe he does have to take some of the blame with his selections this week tho.

I'd be going with Willison and Patty up front and play Rogers at lock.

Hunt should have been playing off the bench and Duffy at 7. P Riki had much more impact coming off the bench he shouldn't have been starting.
100% this.

At the presser he touched on "we beat the dogs" thats cause their pack was a snall mobile one, when you come across a big aggressive pack this one has no answers, Gos just isn't an NRL player even in his preferred position let alone prop. Next week will be a blood bath with that same pack starting, only Patty ran for more than 100m. You just simply cant start Gos at prop, the guy is 95 kg!

Patty for all the effort he puts in moving forward I just don't see him as a future captain just don't think he commands enough. Ezra is terrible, poor passing options, 0 kicking and defending is terrible, Cobbo got dropped for less last year.

Hunt is dreaming if he thinks he warrants a contract for next year, cant kick and offers very little on attack.

Its really hard to not look at the injuries and think its taking its toll, but Madge is doing himself no favors by picking guys out of position.

A few things:

1. Aublix can get ****ed, we have already seen earlier rounds in that he ISN'T NRL standard. He had multiple errors and penalties and played 18 minutes...A bit like Fletcher Baker. Big potential, but can't get it to click.

2. Madge cooked our rotation. Starting PRiki and Gos is 100% fine. JGos did very well, didn't miss a tackle, but **** all runs metres. In that instance, Madge should've made the decision to move X to middle and JHunt or Priki to 2R after 20minutes.

We need to keep to 20minute stints for our props, obviously that is hard when we use a prop to play 2R.

X, JGos, Patty will get run metres and defend well, Priki, Semu and Talty off the bench for the leg speed when the boys have fatigued their middle. Junt is a specialist 2R, let him develop with Mam until Piaks comes back.

3. Ben Hunt clearly wasn't 100%, yes he saw out the game, but you could see his game fitness was gone and making a few dumb mistakes after he had fatigue. Duffy would've been better option and no one would've thunk twice putting him in. He has a very long kicking game. And BUNT could've came in off the bench still. And you don't put Duffy on 20 to go and multiple tries down. That was unfair on him.

4. A lot of 50-50 calls went Manly's way. But in saying that, we made 20 errors, so can't blame the ref in this one.

All in all. Our depth is just starting to fatigue a little, Madge needs to let them R&R and hit it hard after a few days rest and stop putting X on an edge. We will be in this position for a while and possibly next year considering we can't rely on Haas anymore.

It is best to cop the lessons now before mid-season than later.

We’re never going to replace Haas but we have a pretty good plan b wasting away on an edge

We’re 2 out of 3 starting middles down and Madge artificially makes the depth even worse by shifting Willson. Meaning you are starting 5th tier middles.

Literally struggling to think of a positive out of that game. But it all started with our forwards getting dominated and our lack of line speed. We were barely running 3-4 metres when we met their defensive line but they were going 8-9 before they met ours.

I’m sure Jack Gos is a good guy but he is in no way a first grade footballer. Just completely out of his depth in the middle as well as on the edge.

Yep, basically have to shift a full string of depth because we are starting X on edge.

There is a massive positive to take out of it. We completed at 55% and had 39% possession. Any other team would have lost by 50+

And that is a bit harsh on JGos. He hasn't had a bad game at prop, sure he doesn't get a lot of run metres, but he hasn't missed a lot of tackles in the middle either.
And, you act like we have options? we have no one else to put in there. Who are you going to start instead? Aublix? The guy who ****s up every time he is on the field. Talty? Who is struggling at the moment to start and remain competitive with other forwards? Semu? He literally is 2 games into his career.

The only depth we have is Josh Rogers who was a half at the start of the year, now hooker/lock.
And Luke Gale who hasn't debuted and we still need dispensation to play him. NRL will probably say no because we have enough forwards already.

He is the least looking out of his depth.

Anyone watch the presser and can give a summary? Not keen to watch the whole thing.

Basically Madge not wanting to blame injuries, completion rate poor etc. Won't win games with those errors. It was a pretty short one. He is very careful not to blame players which is obv good, but man I hope internally he is absolutely giving it to Man who is just stealing a wage currently.

For me i would love for one of them to ask why he is setting the forwards up like he is currently. Gos at prop is cooking my head, while Carrigan is our best 13, right now we need himself and Willison starting at prop or the same thing will keep happening, teams will just roll us in the middle.

We just can't get off to a good start because of the personnel we have as our starting props.

We have to defend for the first quarter of the game and then if we're good enough, we can hit back, provided we defended well enough to still be within reach. X has to start as a middle, he has to.

Against the good sides, they'll put you away and there's always that hope of a late game comeback but really, it's an uphill battle.

Easy to blame the halves and they were shocking but at the end of the day, we were dominated in the middle and they had no time or space to work with.

The last two weeks we've been playing without Haas and without Willison

Before Piaks injury Willison was dominating through the middle and it was Payne who.

Then you can add Jensen into that missing middle rotation as well.

The Piaks injury was always the one that looked like it would break the camel's back... how we dont have any backrow depth since Capewell left is beyond ridiculous
