Golf - Who Plays?

****ing worst first 9 in a long time for me this morning, 59.

Second 9, 41. Pb for 9 holes.

Stupid game.

99 today. 43 front and a 56 back.
Was 66 going into 14.
This breaking 90 thing is consuming me a bit. I know the easy thing is not to focus on it but its literally a results driven game and you always know what you hit each hole.
Talk me off the ledge good BHQ golfers.

I think Reyno is pretty decent isn't he?

Think he's played in some of the pro-ams
Anybody can play in a pro-am. They have 1 pro per group, then its usually other athletes and businesses who buy slots.

Been playing some decent golf recently. Won the A grade Monthly Medal at Wynnum shooting 72, then played Gailes today, hit 0/14 fairways and shot 80.

It will come with smart play. If you spend any time practising, do it from 120m and shorter. Spend most of the time chipping and putting.

Always aim for the centre of the green, never pin hunt.

most of my practice is spent chipping and putting tbh! i'm actually relatively happy with my chipping. i think its just off the tee when i'm chasing a particular target (score) that i seem to slump. 41 and 43 front the last two rounds, but a 59 and 56 back.

What track are you generally playing?

This hole in particular ****s me every week. I'm mentally beaten by it. Normally hit a 7i off the tee and hook left OB. last two weeks i've tried hitting a 9i from the left side of the teebox to specifically avoid going left, and i've hit the trees on the right and its arrowed left OB lol. it's like no matter what I try I still end OB and i'm 3 off the tee min.

If trouble is left, you should always tee off from the left side of the tee box, takes it out of play. Honestly if you're that head ****ed by it, hit a SW and lay up, or bump and run a 5iron. If you end up 50m short, who cares.

Just try playing it short then chip on and that should take double bogey off the table.
Punch it up there with a 5 iron.
Eventually you'll make your way back to playing g the full club in.

Shot square at Ipswich today. 3 putt par on 16, missed an 8 foot eagle putt on 17, and 6-8 foot birdie on 18.

5i was the ticket boys. did hit the first OB but was a little too close to the ball.
2nd one was back of the green, perfect draw.
tried that approach on a few others as well, rather hit the back of the green than trying to be too perfect and landing in danger. yielded some good results. was 95 off the stick yesty with 44/51.

Well done mate. A good way to avoid the big scores is always hit away from the danger and give up the GIR.

Always try to have a putt at par but just accept it wont happen every time and in that case aim to be on the green and short putting for bogey - especially on the par 3s.

I break 90 regularly but have never broken 80. Biggest thing for me was cleaning up my short game, I use only PW and 8i around the greens. Forget about flop shots and using lofted clubs. I try to avoid any sort of danger, will play around the bunkers etc rather than going over them.

Long term I'd like to develop my wedge game but for now I have accepted that I don't play often enough for that.

If you hit your irons straighter than your driver then just use them instead. My safe club is my hybrid and I use it far more often than I hit driver, sacrifices some distance but keeps me in play.

Most important thing is just playing your own game and trusting the process. Don't get in your head about what others are doing or trying to make up shots from the previous hole.

Good day to belt a few down the fairway..

always a good day mate. lift clean and place!
Was a beautiful day here in Perth yesterday, 26'C
My first round since coming back from work (FIFO).
Played nine holes, shot 40, reasonably easy course and have played there a few times but was happy with that result.

hows the golf coming along @Brocko
Thanks for checking in mate, appreciate that.

Unfortunately, some life shit has well and truly put a halt on that at the moment, haven't even been able to think about it and don't think I'd be in a good head space if I did lol.

Once I get this shit sorted, I'll definitely be putting some hours in.
