POST GAME [Round 13, 2026] - Broncos vs Dragons

So basically every set the other team gets off attacking kicks or near attacking kicks.
This increases the frequency we make mistakes in our half. The reverse is true.

The ruck is a serious...serious problem... a team on a 11 game losing streak was making 60M to our 40M per set. This is going to lead to blowouts against actually good team.

No Ref to blame this time. We just get out metered. All game. Every game.
Yeah it's terrible. Doesn't matter where we turn the ball over, it could be 5m out from the try line in the corner, the opposition still makes enough ground to get an attacking kick away.

I still don't understand how we have the slowest line speed in the comp and the slowest play the ball speed in the comp. It is crazy to me how fast all other teams are off the line against us and how fast their play the ball speeds are. There needs to be an investigation

What's funny is how fast the line speed is against us one week and then watching that same team the week after. Not even close. Teams know they can be offside against us. And I go to games, I can see them actually be offside 5 tackles in a row.

I started counting how many plays we defending without 2 markers. Insane amount.

We always have players left rolling around on the ground or next to the ruck. Then the opposition just run directly into the gap in front of the ruck and make 10+m, get tackled by scrambling defence which causes us to not be at marker again. Repeat that for 60ms per set.

I’m not sure what the fix is. Maybe condense the defence and make it one players job every tackle to stand where marker is going to be and not get involved in the tackle. Then we at least have 1 marker for sure each time

In the Storm v Roosters game on Saturday night Roosters make a break down the left-hand side and Grant, Warbrick and Faalogo tackle the Rooster in the corner, Grant gets to marker and taps Faalogo to release him to get in the line he had fallen to the side of the ruck. Roosters go two passes back to the middle and Sam knows no Faalogo so kicks between the posts. Faalogo swoops in from the left and fields the kick.

There are 4 things I don't think the Broncos do in that passage if the same thing happened on Sunday.

Warbrick, Faalogo and Grant scramble to save the break.
Warbrick goes to first marker after slowing it up a bit.
Grant smart enough to know Faalogo at marker isn't helping.
Faalogo knows what Grant wants and gets up and moves and runs from the sideline to the posts to save the kick.

Played his best footy in the halves.

Reminds me of someone. 😉
Yes he did. It does seem like the half to hooker conversion isn't the answer. Meanwhile we have two up and coming genuine hookers.

Most our players I think were in shock that our 9 actually ran tbh, mozer and bukowski be a good 1/2 to go with imo no need to be playing 80 min in 2026 unless you are really dominating possession
It's well and truly time for Mozer. Otherwise let the poor bloke leave to another club who will start him.

I think if Mozer was as good as the hype he would be in the squad by now. I'm not saying hes not the future or he's not better than paix. Injuries have probably stunted his insertion into the squad is the most likely thing.

I also think Shibasaki's regression is linked to Mam's poor form. The one thing I have noticed about Mam is, he either takes a hit-up, or he runs sideways until he almost runs his outside men out of touch. He doesn't seem capable of digging into the line and playing direct.

At this point I would suggest we start Duffy and see if Shibasaki's form improves. IT would be interesting to see. Even defensively, Mam is the worst defenderin the league. I would hate to be standing next to him in the defensive line.

No one has been hyping him recently. If anything, he's been somewhat forgotten.

Shibasaki is out until Round 18.

I have been banging on about ineffective tackles for a while .
It seems the opposition just want to run harder and are better tacklers . And can offload whenever they feel like it .
Broncos low metres and opposition carving through the middles .

It just doesn't make sense though does it?

This country had Bill Gates and the Israeli President getting paraded around in visits and you're worried about BRS. Cmon Man.

Yeah it's ****ed that they did this and didn't arrest Nenetnyahu who was under an international warrant.

BRS is a domestic abuser and war criminal. He should not have been there.

I'd argue there is barely a 6 in the game that's best weapon is running, that would be able to do anything behind our pack the way they are getting beaten atm.

That running sideways you speak of is because he has to run or pass off the back of a painfully slow play the ball, with opposition in his face with great line speed every time he gets the ball in those positions.

Defensive side of his game needs work, his front ons can be okay, but reads between him and Shiba are dreadful.

Until we sort out whatever is happening in the ruck, Duffy/Rogers/Hunt at 6 isn't going to change much. IMO at least.

Mozer's been out since April 10 with a broken face- he came back on the weekend and played 40 minutes. Scored a great sneaky try and beat three on the way between Waqa being lazy at marker and two more Magpies to run 20m.

Half time Bears are down 20-14 and he scores four minutes into the second half which should have killed the Magpies- Rogers kicking 1/5 didn't help.

That's his best Cup game this year.

Is PTB speed a stat? Ours seems incredibly slow across the park.
