Broncos Roster, Signings and Rumours Discussion 2026

Whatever cash the Broncos have to splash on recruitment for next year + 2028, etc.

I'd be going hard at Kelma Tuilagi and Jacob Preston. Obviously, you'd have to resign JRiki and Piakura too, we can't lose them.

I'd start training them at prop and lock too, so we are never down on capable second rowers and bench forwards that can run and tackle hard.

Then we'd have Patty, X, Barnett, Tuilagi, Preston, JRiki and Piakura. That can fit into prop/lock and 2R with capable depth in Semu, PRiki, Talty (Dude needs to fix his VO2 max), CJ (if he doesn't medically retire) and then Francis/Gale/Bryce as the next wave. Possibly even going for one of the capable and experienced Warriors players in NSW cup.

Similar to how Sharks run with 2Rs that can play lock. Injuries wouldn't completely decimate us then.

But again, we are dreaming.

Our best players this year have been:
Haas (gone)
Willison (available to other clubs October)
HG Riki (available to other clubs October)
Piakura (available to other clubs October)
Mariner (available to other clubs October)
Karapani (available to other clubs October)

This has to be a concern, surely.

Or deals are being discussed behind the scenes and we just aren't privy to them for those players we want to keep, and there is no concern (from the club).

Both could be true, but it doesn't have to be all concern concern concern.

You are probably right but when you go almost two months with no one, some of us would like to see there is some good news around.

If we lose Willison, I don’t know if I can keep watching the broncos…

The quotes:

“I still had another year left at Brisbane and then they went and bought Pezet in the off-season. They had (Tom) Duffy and bought Pezet on what we assumed was big coin,” Black said.

“I was sort of pissed off because you hear things like ‘you’re a good chance of being the next half’.

“My manager had been tipped up on (the Broncos’ signing of Pezet) through the grapevine and he’d given me a bit of early notice that it could be happening.

“I was prepared for the news to come out, but it was still a shock that it actually happened.

“I hadn’t been told by anyone from the club or anything, which is probably what hurt me more.

“Nothing is promised in footy … Everyone promises you the world and no one can ever give it to you. It’s a bit annoying in that sense."

“When Kev was there, I was getting really good feedback and it was really good,” Black said.

“Then ‘Madge’ came along and obviously different coaches, different plans.

“I was getting mixed messages and juggling what feedback to actually listen to.”

I'm guessing Ricky has given Faux the heads up that he's debuting this week or something??

Or are they still playing Daine Laurie ahead of him... or has he already debuted?? (I haven't really been paying attention this year)

Im guessing its his debut. No idea.

But jeez - kids burning bridges these days. Not sure if that's so smart.

Sounds like a pretty entitled brat. The kind of player you don't want. If you haven't even played first grade you shouldn't expect to be the only one in line for a first grade spot.

Sure, don't fight and force your way into the squad by being better than the other options.

Chuck a dummy spit because you've got competition and the halfback role is not being handed to you on a silver platter.
