Ashley Klein is a corrupt dud

Come on mate, seriously?

How naive are you?

Bloke losing money hand over fist gambling on horses/dogs, is the same bloke in control of professional sporting games that are heavily bet on and you think he never crossed that line?
Uh yes because they would've investigated him immediately and if anything sus was found, he would've been fired immediately.
Do you have anything to support your braindead takes or are you just clutching the tinfoil a bit too hard?

They investigated him. If there was even a slight suspicion they would have canned him. They could have phased him out anyway. You think the nrl are risking everything for one guy?
Genuinely don't think the NRL care, especially since it was under a previous administration (who even then were incredibly soft on Cronulla, Parramatta and Manly despite rorting the cap).

There is a difference between rorting the cap and one guy dictating entire results. Clubs would sue the NRL into oblivion. A new league would have to be established and the entire X amount of years would be shitcanned.

I think Hanlons razor is an appropriate response here.

Even going back to the Gallop years.

Andrew Johns has a drug problem.

The NRL.

An NRL investigation? Well there it is, no need to ask any further questions. Melbourne would probably still be cheating the cap if not for a whistleblower.

This is something that should have come out right away. Why now? 7 years later when trust in the officials has gone way down hill?

I'm sure they looked into it but I doubt it was with a fine tooth comb. Just enough to save their backsides.

And what? It didn’t scare him off making corrupt calls? He just doubled down and didn’t stop. He was corrupt last week too if you believe everything you read.

Personally I'm not too sure that it's really anyone's business if the NRL have investigated and cleared him considering the legal element of it. I don't believe an NRL ref should necessarily have their dirty laundry aired to all and sundry if it does not directly impact their line of work.

By typing just enough to save their backsides, you're admitting there's probably not really anything there.

I'm not suggesting he definitely did not, plenty of organisations cover shit up. What I am suggesting is that until it can be proven that he did, I am not going to crucify a guy that experienced something that millions of people experience. It's kinda why gambling ads have their spiel of gamble responsibly.

But if he didn’t do anything wrong why should it have come out? It’s personal.

I'd have to see more details. As you can see my faith in the NRL isn't exactly high and they don't have a great track record when it comes to these types of matters. How long was the investigation? Was Klein stood down during this period? We live in a nation where there's a presumption of innocence but that doesn't mean you can't be suspicious.

I don't think it makes Klein or the NRL look favourable.
