Ashley Klein is a corrupt dud

Well Occam said the simplest explanation is usually the best .

And his wisdom is 300 + years old ....

Hanlon`s razor talks about human nature .
And is closer to 50 years old .

Hanlon's razor is an adage, or rule of thumb, that states: "Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity."

So yes very different Tommy .
Agree 100%

Don`t worry boys and girls .
There`s still plenty of bauxite in the mines to supply you with all the tin foil you require .

Have you actually read the thread? There’s been some really good discussion from multiple angles. Your post looks a little silly.

If the NRL did do an extensive investigation into his gambling habits and didn't find anything that crossed over into Rugby League, I couldn't really give a shit if he had a gambling addiction on horses and greyhounds. Not really much different to players playing with gambling addictions, if that addiction isn't crossing over into the sport they're in, not really that big of a deal.

However, if it comes out they didn't investigate it, yeah that shit storm is going to be massive.

Is that why he hates the Broncos, the horses give him PTSD.

All I’m hearing is that he refers to the Broncos as the horses
If he bet money on us and lost its no wonder he hates us and rigs games against us. That will teach us for letting him down.

I still find it insane that there are people that think it's completely acceptable for a gambling addict to work as a ref that can influence games.

If he was in your business, you would just blindly trust him? Insane, absolutely insane 😂

If an ex-addict wants to keep on gambling with his own personal finances, or not, that’s on him and his family.

It’s a whole different story when you place a ref with these problems into a position where the temptation is the strongest. Not sure but if Klein slipped backwards again, he just blames the nrl for continuing to expose him to that temptation. Geezus. He could then possibly sue them? Lol.

If I bought a $100k parcel of any listed equity without written clearance I would be sacked. Literally the most insignificant trade that wouldn’t have the ability to manipulate anything however I would potentially have information that a regular trader would not, so a sacking would be justified.

Yet the NRL has no problem with a dude with a gambling addiction (reformed or not) controlling an outcome that could subsequently make him millions and would be relatively easy to do over the time of his refereeing career.

Every fanbase (bar Penrith because they just win a lot) has laughed over Kleinkampf’s cooked and incompetent refereeing for years. Many NRL fans (not exclusively BHQ) have joked about Klein match fixing for some time because his errors have been that egregious.

He smells like shit because he’s probably shit himself.

By all reports his gambling addiction was years ago. He's put himself on a register that bans him from all online/phone gambling.

He could always do walk-ins but given he's a well known figure, it's fairly risky.

If the NRL checked his betting accounts/bank statements and found nothing, they don't have cause to sack him. There isn't anything in the rules that says referees can't gamble on other sports.

If he's no longer gambling and there is nothing in his history that shows he has bet on any NRL games, I don't see much issue in him staying employed.

It's entirely possible for addicts to only have a particular vice and it's entirely possible for addicts to get help and put that shit behind them.

Don't be so bloody naive.

He's not robbing the BWS anymore to feed his addiction, so he's fine to keep managing it.

Why is everyone trying to see the good in this useless ****? Because he battled addiction? Is that it? He's a top fella now cause he overcame it? He's still a corrupt, bald little ****ing **** who has ruined more NRL matches than we will ever see ruined again in our lifetime by another single ref.

It's hard to fathom how people can be so naive on this topic, to the point where it's amusing. They're using the "NRL investigated it" as a defense. NRL have investigated a lot of things, most of the time the information has come from a 3rd party. Their investigations aren't worth anything.

Yep. Match fixing is exceptionally hard to expose. Tennis has a massive problem with it at the moment.

The NRL could have full access to someone's bank accounts and electronic devices and still not catch clear evidence because of how easy it is to hide. You can obtain burner phones, and arrange international syndicates through whatsapp etc. Organisations often turn a blind eye because it is just too hard to prove.

Crazy that people don't find this all suss.

Nah bro... Klown is definitely legit... he'd never use a proxy or anything... I'm sure NRL interrogated him and did a full and thorough investigation.

NRL: "Is there anything that could come back on us?"
Klown: "Nah... I don't think so... I just did it through my mate's account"
NRL: "But just broncos vs bulldogs.. I mean horses and greyhounds??"
Klown: "Yeah ... although there was that time..."
NRL: "lalala I can't hear you... we're ceasing the interview now"
