Ashley Klein is a corrupt dud

I don’t think he lost it all on the same day mate. My gambling losses would amount to around the 100-150k mark, maybe more, I wasn’t really counting….that was over 7 years though.

How much did you win during the same period ?

I had remarkably bad luck. I once won 800 which is the most I ever won at once. I once won 400 which is the second biggest I ever won. And probably 20-30 wins of 1-200 Dollarydoos. Then there’s the times where you have a bit of a win but end up putting it straight through the machines so it turns out to be a loss anyway.

Most gamblers gush over their good luck stories, I don’t have many of them.

I played 20$ in a machine about a year ago and just felt so flat, like I knew I was throwing the 20$ in the bin. I felt nothing….just this weird empty feeling that I was wasting my time but did it anyway.

From time to time I’ll chuck a 10 or 20 on a sports match, Melbourne cup for example but I most certainly don’t have a problem or anything.

Think I said in another thread I’m gonna chuck 20 on the dolphins to win it this year. Have no idea what it’s paying.

So they are going to be the 1st team to get 50 scored against them & they are winning the comp.

Could be. Playing well atm. I could put it on Penrith but what would be the point? I’d make a dollar or 2.

That 50 point thing doesn’t actually rule a team out from winning. It’s just never happened before.

Never got the hook of Pokies myself, sports betting is far more dangerous I reckon.

You just leave the club/casino, whatever it is, that's it, no more pokies.

Actually surprised you can still get $2.42 on Penrith

It overlapped a time in my life when I was getting high on hard drugs a lot. The lights, the sounds the encouraging slogans at the top of the screen when you win 50c off a 2.50 bet all suck you in. I see a pokie room these days and the people in there remind me of zombies.

BUT, have you ever been put in a position where you can directly control the result of one of your bets? Because that's what we are talking about here. Not that it's possible for addicts to be able to control themselves (and massive credit to those who can) in normal everyday circumstances. We're talking about whether they'd be able to avoid those temptations if given the cheat codes.

If I could I wouldn’t lose 400k that’s for certain. If it’s ever found he bet on nrl matches I’ll be screaming corruption from the rooftops too.

To me he’s always just been the height of incompetence. So many wrong calls in so many games against all the teams, I doubt he had a bet on all of them. Unless he is some kind of mega genius who has been playing 4d chess the whole time to cover up his criminal activities by appearing incompetent.

So your answer is that, even yourself who has been able to overcome your addiction, would likely take advantage of that situation?

Uhhh no, that’s you putting words in my mouth.

If that is the case, why has the ref who has, as a best-case, it's-not-a-conspiracy scenario, who has simply "been the height of incompetence", been put in charge of the highest profile games in the code?
