Q-CUP 2026 Queensland Cup Discussion

Another 2 tries and a heap of goals for Chris Woodbridge from Toowoomba. Apparently been clocked as the fastest rugby league player this year also. Would like to see him around some better players. Some NRL or super league club will pick him up you would think. A light frame but is lighting it up at that level.

Sounds like Shannen Walker

I think Walker was even bigger which is funny. Woodbridge a better playmaker. Kicks in general play all the time too.

Walker used to be great to watch. I really hoped his NRL career would have taken off.

His speed isn't even his best skill, his kicking game is outstanding. He has scored a lot of his tries this year by kicking for himself or others. He just has outstanding vision.

Him and Parcell are so dangerous and his second try was a break by Parcell, you see Woodbridge moving straight away and backs him up.

He reminds me of Cup Inglis, scores the try, kicks the goal, goes back runs 100m again from the kickoff, kicks on the fifth take the kick offs.

Surely Woodbridge could get a deal from us. Could do worse than have him as an option.

Big game for the Bears this afternoon against the Hunters.

Hunters struggling to get through their sets and get over the line. If they can fix that they could be in with a shot but the defending premiers should still be too strong in the clutch. Good opportunity for some of these Bears players to earn NRL opportunities so they'll want to make an impact.

The 9Gem/Kayo game features the struggling Devils taking on Tweed Heads. Devils have really struggled to get their attack in order and don't have defensive ability to keep teams out. Meanwhile Tweed Heads have always been competitive but have been on the wrong end of a lot of close games.

You'd have to think at 1 win-1 draw-8 losses the Devils are done and it's been a fairly bitter end of an era for them. Tweed are still in it at 3 wins - 2 draws - 6 losses but if that becomes 7 you'd have to put a red line through them.

The other story from last night was the Cutters breaking the Magpies heart. The Cutters led 26-8 before the Magpies rallied in the dying stages to make it 26 all. In the end the Cutters halfback Rayden Burns kicked a field goal to clinch it for Mackay.

Coates on the bench- that's another strange one from Burt like Rogers last week.

Don't see Coates doing much from the bench.

No the story from last night was Milford going to the sin bin in possession I think he said something to the ref.

He could be that player that's played locally footy in Toowoomba and is happy to play for the Clydesdales but take him further than that and he says no thanks.

He's 25. It took the Walkers to get him to play Cup, he's won the last two Webcke Price Medals for TRL but didn't want to play Cup.

Fair enough. Seems like a guy with loads of talent.

McConnell scores a great try, taking the Hunters on. Bears weren't going anywhere first 10 minutes.

I think the key to Bryce's revolution is his anger, he always been this workhorse get my job done type of player but this year he is so aggressive. I noticed it against the Titans he got pushed and then suddenly was into it and in Cup he is playing angry and giving guys sprays.

Angry Bryce is good to watch.

Hunters have had their good start and positive five minutes- Bears next three tries.

Get Mozer on, holes for days.

Well if Bryce is starting to excel, no doubt Redcliffe will snap him up if he's not contracted to us next year. We're screaming out for another second rower and he can't seem to get a look in.

No Coates at HT. I can't check but will but I think he may have been injured or something and they are hoping not to use him.

I can't see what a rookie winger brings off the bench.
